Is the mechanism of missile silo changed?

I cannot find the information anywhere.
But since the 6.1 update I just find that missile silo is no longer targeting my tanks and generals. Instead it targets my group of heavy artillery.
And no, it is not due to the attack range. Both groups have kept distance from the missile silo.

I just screw up the recent world war due to this change...

I have not noticed any changes (although tbh I don't tend to leave a silo sitting around long enough to monitor its targets). My understanding is that the silo's target has always been the highest conglomeration of HP. Usually, with the high HP of tanks and heroes, these are what are targeted (which makes them very useful units to use when attacking a base with a silo). But it stands to reason that if there is a big group of artillery and shooters close to a tank or hero then the whole group will be a target as it will have a higher total HP than a tank or hero on its own.

No, I am pretty sure the group of tanks and general's HP is higher than that of heavy artillery.
2 Tank Destroyer and 2 Jagdpanzer is more than 100k HP, not counting the General yet.
And then after I deploy about 11 Heavy Artillery, which is about 15k HP at most, the silo immediately launch the missile and hit my group heavy artillery.
I even haven't deployed any shooters yet.

And I have no choice to let the silo to launch missiles as the WW base is heavily fortified and the silo is placed in the middle of it.
Unless I switch to use heavy tank approach, there is no way to take it down first and deploy my units.

Just to add more info.
I have used this approach in WW since day one of the launch of the missile silo and it works well.
It still works after Cold War Age introduced.
But I notice it doesnt work during one of the random match after the 6.1 update.
At that time I didnt use any of the mercenary so my thinking is same as what Butcherer mentioned above, "maybe the HP of my tanks is not higher than that of heavy artillery + shooters".
However after the failure of my recent WW attempt I described in #0, I strongly believe that the mechanism is changed.

Alliance members have reported a similar change in targeting, but no solid proof yet.

I haven’t noticed anything, was attacked and my silo shot the guy’s tanks as usual. Likewise, when I used generals to beat a base just now, the silo shot at my generals and not the archers or cannons.

When generals and tanks are on the very edge of the map, silo will target the rest of your army.

I am not really sure what your dedinition of very edge of the map is, but since most of my WW target is large and heavily fortified base(late AA or CWA base), i should have already placed the tanks on the very edge of the map before. But then why do I never experienced this issue before until these few days?

And even it is the case it should be a bug then. If the silo is placed in the middle of the base, its range should cover the whole map.

it’s a forest thing. troops in forest cannot find holes in walls, missile silo cannot find tanks in forests, etc

This happened to me a few times but I didn't know what the reason was but figured it out because of some you tubers. Once silo is triggered, if you're units are in the forest/grassy area it won't target them initially if there are units on the normal floor area. So if your generals/high hp units are in the grassy area it'll target the other units instead. However I've already made sure not to make this error again. Other than that I haven't noticed the glitch though I've occasionally seen double shots by silo.

In my case of latest WW, both the group of tanks and group of range siege are in the forest area during deployment. Why does it target the range siege first? Still doesn't sounds right to me.

And i have faced this a few times in RM. I always deploy tanks first and then range siege next. So most of the time the tanks should leave the forest first. Yet the silo strike the range siege in the forest area instead.

Anyway, I will try to test it a few times when I have time and see if this theory is correct.
