Is the Statue of Liberty even worth it?!

Many have been disappointed with wonders. The most notorious for me personally was the Temple of Tikal and the Pyramids. I really can't understand these wonders at all. The Pyramids should really just affect all farms instead of promoting less serious players to sacrifice base layout space. As for the Temple of Tikal, the low percentage is just insane to me. I know that the player will have these wonders for most of the game time, and therefore should be able to get a decent amount of loot saved overtime, but we're talking about six raids on average in two days. Let it be said, that plus two trade good capacity ain't makin' up for much. Maybe after 1000 raids you'll get to look at some big numbers and think that this wonder was actually worth it.

But the Statue of Liberty seemed like it could be useful if air units become even more dominant in later ages. I don't really care for the attack buff on zeppelins because of their ridiculous numbers right now, but we might see even more air units in the future, and it could definitely make a difference, as I've never played with a more powerful unit and would love to build more strategies around them.

What are your thoughts about the Statue? How many 3% of your resources saved would it take for you to regain your sanity? Why do the Chinese not have special great walls as one of their nation bonuses when they have the elements already made in the campaign? Why won't your Japanese girlfriend let you pay for her movie ticket?

All good questions that we're going to answer tonight on the Big Huge XeroMaxx Show!

Stay dominating!

Never mind all that, let's just get to the Japanese girlfriend part. Do they insist on buying their own dinner, shoes, handbags, clothes, jewellery, car, etc also?

I have The Statue of Liberty and it's only useful if you are using air units in support of a 5 star army. For those using a sniping army, it's pretty useless and probably the Brandenburg Gate or Kremlin would be a more useful wonder in the IA.

Last time this came up I think the consensus was that air units were already so strong on offense that the additional buff from the Statue was gilding the lily. Presumably the thinking has changed. Where does the extra damage from the SoL make a difference? Biplanes vs. heavy tanks?

I'm surprised the SoL has a 'range' - why not just make it for your complete base?!!! And the oil bonus - being an amount you can easily raid in one attack - is just ridiculously low!

Can anyone confirm if the Brandenburg disabling effect is for a complete battle - rather than for a specified time period (ie: 30seconds) ?

That's not much better than a tactic!
I'd expect something from a wonder to be ''wonder''ful - like the 3 diamonds, cider & metal from my AW today!!

Yes 20% is a sizable buff but the only factory unit I use - on occasion - is the heavy hitter - and while he might die a few seconds later he'll still die.
Something like the Kremlin is better suited to my needs but the BG would be my 2nd choice over the other 2. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks .....
