It’s just another business model

It has already been said by a lot of players and I will repeat it once more: the new rebalance is another step forward pay-to-win, but with one addition from my side - for the higher ages. I have a gunpowder account and I can say that game is wonderful in that zone: a lot of abandoned bases full of resources, a lot of new interesting features (short uni-leaders, museums, a bunch of useful library technologies, nobody attacks you (I got one attack during one month), you’re welcome in ww because of the low lvl and you don’t have much responsibility, since there’s always someone of higher age to cover your failure, you don’t have that top-player stress “we can loose if I fail my attack”. So what I’m saying is that probably this is a new approach: new player starts a game, enjoys it for about a year, and when he hits IA or Global, Nexon appears and says to him - “If you like the game, then it’s time to pay”.

Actually it's not quite so. :) I remember i was gunpowder once. I couldn't log off for 5 minutes and i would get attacked. What you just said -one attack in a month- means there are no new players in the game.

hahaha excatly that Imaera. I remember that too. I was so frustrated during that period. And when I got that oil refinery, things got even worse. There was no way I could keep 50000 oil for more than 2 hours.

Actually there are other games I know (one was Gamel☸ft's) that silently did rebalance during Crowns sale, like once in 2 weeks. Just simple rebalances/adjustments, yet temporary.
Every time they did the crazy sale, they increased defensive buildings hp and fire rate.
This game is just going on the same path. Doing rebalances while pushing Crowns and troops sale.
Ironically, since this game is going on the same path, it's leading to the same destination also.
Dead end.

Well then, times have changed - it’s very easy now to play at low ages)

Exactly:) Times have changed. Player base have shrinked drastically and after these rebalance stages will shrink even more. Lighting a candle for Dominations, as it is about to die.

You are exactly right. I have been playing for one year, i have maxed offense IA base, just starting defense. I'm going to quit the game now because i do not want to pay to keep 5* attacks in war and in MP.

I have a gunpowder mini and I get attacked within 5 minutes when I log out.
I am around 1400 medals because of the nice stuff I get from boat and victory chest.

Alexey I guess you are just at a low medal range and as in every age, being in low medal range means nobody attacks the slightly harder bases.
When I drop medals with my main account, I don't get attacked either.

The rebalance seems fine so far, the first step wasn't really gamechanging and I'm looking forward how the second step will do.
I don't have any problems with strenghtening defense a bit, my biggest concern are cheaters and the mismatches that happen too often.

Yes this game is P2W, but Nexon is a company, not charity. As in most games, it's hard to reach the top without spending.
And if you don't want to spend, you need to set other goals. If you want to be a top 50 alliance, prepare to face spenders, but as I said, isn't that the case in every game?

We don't want to be a top 50 alliance, and yet we face stupid wars against spenders somewhat regularly.

When we only get 1 good war matchup out of every 4, it is obnoxious that the one good matchup can be completely destroyed if the other side has more spenders.

Isn’t 1400 too much for gunpowder? It’s like trying to reach 3000 being global - it’s possible but takes a lot of effort. Anyway, back in times, 2 - 2,5 years ago my gunpowder would be hit by raiders no matter of medal count as soon as it got enough resources. And it’s not the case anymore. And again, back in times we managed to reach top100 once without spending, and again - it’s not the case anymore
