Hello , I am FoRcEOfTrOy, and I will be starting a Base Design series as I progress through the game.

My Iron Age Farming Base is called the Legion. It is a core base with 3 outer sectors.

PROS:

Protected Resources
Centralized Catapult
Centralized Garrisons in Acropolis Range.
Can hold Classical Age armies.

CONS:
Exposed Town Center (whole point of farming really..)
16/25 buildings connected (Sacrificing some economy for protection)
Western sector is exposed

EDIT: There is a couple pieces of unnecessary extra road by the mercenary camp. For increased resource defense from the northwest, you can exchange the a wall from the Northern Garrison and the gate from the Core & place it next to the Northern Garrison. You can then place pieces of road under said gate for extra road income. You can also place a road piece under the gate directly next to the Town Center. Thanks to LoverofPi.
Hope you like it, please leave any questions or feedbacks in the comment section below.

i put my garrison inside my base, if i have more wall, i would put a gate inside the base to connect each sections, but no gate for outside walls. I sacrifice my outside buiding, in a hope that my catapult will put a bit damage before they breach the wall.

I do have in mind a small solution for me to put a gate to outside wall, it will still pose a threat but i think i can minimize it. but im not sure if i have enough wall to do that

Hmm, I understand where your coming from, and yes that is true about the gate's weaknesses but I still believe in using Garrison's (and soon enough Stables and the Colosseum) as a very important defense and i want to make my troop movements as flexible as possible. Thanks for the feedback though! I will try to limit the use of gates without losing said flexibility.

So made a very tiny adjustment to your base to improve the gold efficiency. I noticed you had some extra road lying on the bottom connecting to the mercenary camp and if you placed those underneath gates, a road network bonus can be obtained. Since you've moved onto the classical age, it may not be of use but it'll come handy for people who view it in the future.

Thanks! I didn't think about that, I will edit that information into the main post. Thanks again!

Nice design for that level for sure. I'd split up the farms too - so if someone is just medal dropping they don't get a row of farms.

I like it and would very keen to copy that style but as you said its for farming and the lost of medals from Town Center getting defeated so easily is a very horrible con.

Thanks Andy, uploading my Classical Age design very soon and I implemented that into the design! Stay tuned!
