So it was nearing the end of a war and it was a fairly good one where the other team at least did some attacks so I got to thinking, their an open alliance so why not go over there and chat it up a bit with them. Didn't know how they would take it having the enemy to come in and chat but why not try. Another reason was I wanted to see if their glory points were inverse of our glory points (in which they were btw, which I have say I was surprised because we have never had more to gain then to lose). Anyways, after saying good luck I went back to my alliance. Well needless to say that when you come into an alliance, even if it was your previous alliance, your "Lifetime Donations" is set to 0, zero, nada. Seriously what the hell does lifetime mean? My leader and I have been friendly battling each other since our inception to stay on top. Now I have no way of catching up.
So, in the grand scheme of things its like not really that big of a deal, but maybe I am just a little bit jaded by this.
Am I off base for thinking this way?

I know how you feel. Only thing keeping me from leaving to recruit is 194k lifetime donations

Some of the best relationships are from chatting it up. Last-Outlaws!! was formed from rivals meeting. this is the reason I have a secondary account. I would suggest be respectful in your words and your timing. And in regard to lifetime donations... it's math, did you really expect NEXON to get it right?

Oh ya for sure about the chat even though I think only one person was on at the time and he didn't respond to anything. No gloating or smack talking here. And about the math, guess I am learning that Nexon is kind of messed up in many aspects including customer relations and listening to peeps concerns.

Well, of course your donation count vanishes when you leave the alliance. That's not really weird, I would in fact expect this to happen. Sucks that yours got reset, but I'd call it an oversight on your side and not a flaw on Nexon's side.

In the grand scheme of things, is this really worth worrying about, or even commenting on??!! I understand people like recognition but at the end of the day you know what you've done, right?!
That's what matters.
Just my two cents.

Yes I routinely leave my alliance for many reasons and each time my count is reset. I donate regularly and the members know it. Trying to stay because of this number severely limits your movement ability :)

It is true that all of my alliance knows I am a top donator. There is no question about that. But when I see lifetime well that kind of means lifetime. Example, Wayne Gretzky is the number one goal scorer in the NHL of all time. Most of those goals were with the Edmonton Oilers. Now when he moved to Los Angeles did his lifetime goals get reset? Coming from Clash of Clans where they store a lot of information and it being visible to all other players this just seems weird to me. You can really get a lot of information on how a player will be to your team by looking at certain things that they have accomplished over their time in game but that is another subject.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm sorry that your count was erased but that happened due to leaving the alliance.

Although to be fair, surely the ''lifetime'' element can be set to tie in with the player number, and not the alliance??!

That's an excellent point. I lost my lifetime donation total due to the unfortunate glitch removing me from my alliance a few months ago. At the time I had well over 50,000. I often wonder how much I would have now. *sigh* but now I am free of the pressure it put on me to stay at the top. Free and encumbered by the number, I just give when I want to now. Narry a care in the world :)

I think continuing the donate troops achievement past 30,000 would be the best way to go about it. Even if each milestone doesn't increase the crowns rewarded exponentially, at least the game would keep a running tab for those who care.

As far as the tally on the alliance screen? Who cares? Keep a running tab of who wins each season and give yourself gold stars at the end of the year if you'd like.

Agree with Manifesto - I know & my alliance knows I'm a heavy duty donator. No one is going to complain if my lifetime donations get zero'd because of a glitch or visiting another alliance!
