Loot became much worse after the update

I am not completely sure if they tuned matchmaking or this is the result of longer peace treaties, but loot became just owful. This is the hidden way to take more money from players, because it's much harder now to collect a number in one session. I had to attack people I would never attack yesterday and I've got attacked for 60k of food too what haven't happened for weeks. Someone was starving I suppose. They'd need to buff economy together with this... Those ones who were happy about longer peace treaties will feel the difference once they face multi million upgrades.

That's what we get when people ask for things without thinking about the repercussions. I think the previous peace treaty period was fine but now they have messed it. Longer peace treaty means more wait-and-press-farms/caravans type of game play, lesser interactivity and more 'nexting' issues because there are lesser bases to be raided at any hour now.

Instead of reducing building times for balistas(much more broken than cavalry) and bombards as a compensation for cavalry nerf, they increased peace treaties... So alltogether twice less loot for me today, with this update... Smart guy in BS Games probably thought that users will pay more with such approach, but didn't calculated the outcome. If you nerf cavalry - buff balistas time. If you increase peace treaties - buff the economy, so this turtle gameplay gets viable at least and give peqce treaties after each attack based on % resources lost and not victory condition. Who are these people, lol?

Well, I can't complain they took the path to a better balance between war and economy. I mean I completely let down farms, caravans, roads... since early medieval. Now they become more interesting to play with. I think we'll have 2 sides (people of this forum mostly being in "war-war-war-press-the-next-buton-15-TIMES-AHHHH-A-NEWBIE-WITH-250K-ATTTAAAAAAAAAAAACK" mode). I personally believe it's a good step toward a more diversified gameplay and I hope they will develop more interesting concept like trade route between nations, global exchange market for gold/food, stuff like that. Frankly staying 2-3h in a row in front of my screen only attacking-rebuild-repeat begins to be kind of boring.

You hardly find newbies with 250K loot. Most of the time the 100K loots come from higher ages.

When I see a n00b, I will ... "Here's a foot soldier to take some of your gold/food and here are some medals for you to raise your league - kthnxbai"

I admit 250k is extreme. But 100-150k total loot is very common in late classical or late medieval. Guys saving for the next age. I meet them several time a day.

250 / 200 + loots is rare indeed but possible to find in lower medal league where some gun powder aged players hide..I encountered and demolished some at that league ..

I have 2 mil food sitting behind an 8 hour peace treaty because someone hit just my town center and left. It doesn't seem fair that I should get such a long shield from nothing. My own farming rate dropped severly as soon as the update came out. These long peace treaties really need to go.

Willing to wager that the longer peace times are an experiment to see if that helps retain more new players. If it works, that's going to be good for the game in the long run.

To me the new shield system is a bless, now the chances of being robbed clean dropped from six times in 24 (24h divided by six 4h shields) to three times (24h divided by three 8h shields). Now the pressure to go for your phone/tablet like a crackhead because of the abundance of times where your city is vulnerable is gone. Yes, it makes raiding more dificult, but hey, at least your farms, caravans and roads now can take a break to be worth something. The next step should be raising the resource income a little (around 15-30%), and the difficulty of finding worthy preys will pay off.
