Most efficient university research path for "newbies"

This is the most efficient upgrade path concerning time for a fresh Gunpowder age base. Total 162.76 hours to upgrade Musa/Hiawatha to get the full 30% research time discount.

This is only research for time discount. You would do this before the capstones to reduce the worker cost. also the above isnt a full tree research, its specifically for the most efficient route to get the 30% time discount only.

I suppose, but I would not use workers on any other leader tree until the capstones are finished so you have more workers. Instead, invest workers in other upgrades until the capstones are finished, which really don't take that long.

In my full upgrade post i did that. I got the Max Time discount, then i maxed Hiwatha, i think it was because he only needs 2 workers for everything and musa needs 3. So i have hiwatha capstone to make musa all cost 2 instead of 3, Then after both of those were capstoned, i "started" on all other research trees.

I think your calculation is off a bit, because Hiawatha only takes two workers. So if you are trying to minimize worker time, you should do more of the Hiawatha time research discount before doing the mansa Musa time research stuff. Not straight calendar time reduction, but less worker time.

But it is pretty close, and the recommendation to do the research time discount from both before the capstone on either is right on target.

I forgot to update this after i realized the workers were different so thats why it shows as 3. But i did this based solely on time requirements saying you wanted to maximize the actual time reduction based on time spent, not workers used.

when i did a comparison between the 2 different paths this path was around 8 hours shorter than the hiawatha path. I dont think its 'wrong' to do either path, but you do want to alternate between the to to maximize the time discount.
