Not really all that much in medieval no. I noticed having the ballista tower on the other side of the mill & market distracted the attacking player 3/4 times making them go for it first, giving your colo. & garri's plenty of time to spawn defender & swarm 'em. The placement of the spike trap plays a huge role as well since most players rally onto a ballista to overwhelm it. Spike traps love a rallied army let me tell ya Also, upgrade the walls around the ballistas first (after your gates are maxed obviously), then catapults, then the rest. Make sure to research that extra 10% wall health in the library too. It's amazing how many more troops your towers can pick off when the enemy is busy with a wall section. Plus the a.i. is way more whack than when I was in medieval so I imagine you'll have no worries defending.Just switched my base to your setup! The only thing I'm worried about is the ballista tower placement... It doesn't have a great location to protect storages. Has this not been a problem for you?
Actually I totally forgot I posted it on here, search for the thread "My Latest & Greatest - Gunpowder Layout" in tactics and strategiesJwinn, just curious if you'd had any success in designing a layout for gunpowder yet? I absolutely loved this medieval design as i never lost more than one mill since using it. For the 5 days upgrading to GP, I had max resources and was only attacked twice in 5 days with no treaties! Both failed and only the second guy managed to get one mill. Definitely would love to see what you came up with in the next age!
dumb question here but how did you acquire a 6th house?
appreciate the help on the layout. i am using it now and it's nice.
