My gold is depleted when I use crowns Ive purchased with real money to upgrade

I used real money to purchase crowns from you guys. When I use crowns for instant upgrade, It takes the amount of crowns specified and empties out my gold amount. WTF! You're scamming me.

thats totally normal, usually the instant upgrade only applies to the time, it still costs you resources. but if you don't have enough of a resource for an upgrade it will empty that resource and then use extra crowns to make up the difference.

I would just like to confirm what tnbuddy is saying. That is how it works. You get a discount on the amount of crowns = the amount of gold you have. Time costs a lot more than resources in terms of what crowns buy.
