I've been playing this game for about 3 months now, and so far resisted spending loads of money buying coins. But today I decided to buy 2500 coins to spend on research. some of the items were 60 coins for instant research. So I go ahead and buy 2500 coins and to my surprise, when I go into the research, the same items are now 256 coins.

Why have they increased in value just because I now have some coins to use. This game is really starting to p**s me off

The crown value to "instant" complete an action is some combination of crowns to buy the missing food/gold and crowns for the time to speed it up. It sounds like between the time you saw 60 crowns for instant research and 256 crowns you might have spent down your food/gold so now you need to use more crowns for the part that makes up buying the missing food/gold.

Because the game is fun, in the early ages a little bit of $ gets u a lot of instant gratification. It isnt until end game that the prices skyrocket and the cheaters kill the desire to spend $.
