I noticed the good response from the ‘Order of upgrades on new Industrial Age post’ so I thought it would be cool to see Global Age as we have a handful of teammates going there this week.

Thanks in advance.

Mine is:
I upgraded armory, war academy and library a week before the rush, after I got to GA in the first minute possible in IA rush.
Now it is airstrip, missile silo, factory, and howi + decoy in armory.
Next are embassy for coalitions upgrade, mc, second missile silo.
Followed by 1 garrison, 1 stable, another factory, castle, bunker, further stable upgrade, university for Amelia... I wish I could do all! :)
Refinery may wait after the discount, as well as SAM, oil wells...

Everything oil based. If you have crowns, crown the castle, and probably the airstrip (hate to have those down for long). In the armory, howitzers, and then either tanks or planes if you crowned the airstrip. Second tank upgrade and something else will also fit in with this two week rush, if you got the armory started as soon as you got to GA during the IA rush.

Also - get the missile silo. Level 1 & Level 2. 45% off is the first discount since it was introduced, and it is by far the biggest defensive boost in the game. I hate the building, and think it should never have been allowed in multiplayer, but as long as it is there it should be on your list.

Missile silo and airstrip are priority #1 during the sale. As mentioned, oil-based buildings and upgrades should be priority. Food and gold are easy to get in GA, oil is tougher, and the missile silo will help you keep what you steal; you'll get attacked nonstop by atomics and higher globals (and some CW) without it and will see a very noticeable drop in attacks once you have one. Howitzer and aircraft in armory, then tank and another aircraft if you can before the event ends.

Armory should go first on food buildings. Merc camp should come fast too as Jagdpanzerrs are a big upgrade there (help with attacks on silo-equipped bases). There are some good library upgrades on next one, so library should come early too.

I wouldn't worry about any defense buildings until you get all of those taken care of, but first defense building should be a tank depot, then a garrison. I tend to max out mortars after the tank depots are all up.

Thanks all for the quick responses, this was great info from all of you! We are not worried about defense buildings atm except for missile silo and getting the new buildings (that come with aging up) at least started so it’s easier to redo war base.

Out of curiosity for those that use a bunch of real money, the game offered for $88 most or all the new buildings to be instantly completed. Not all the buildings were level 1, some were levels 3 or 4 saving a lot of time. I didn’t do the math at the time but I was wondering if that would of been a great deal. I chose to use some crowns for this age up but did not know about $88 deal or I would of compared them earlier instead I planned on crowning(if needed) the war academy, airstrip, armory, missile silo and possibly merc camp so we can keep on going to war if we want(although some of us might take a break for a week or two). The new oil well is cheap so I might upgrade it or it will fill up in 3 hours with the 80% faster oil.

howies, medium tanks, decoy all look good for upgrading next. I need to make sure I have room in armory to upgrade planes not just because it’s oil but also it has shorter days to upgrade so might be able to get a few upgrades in during sale. The food upgrades like troops/tactics take 10 days while planes take 6 or 7 days I believe.

thx again for all your advice, it helped a lot.

$88 is a small amount to some, if it's a small amount to you then it definitely sounds like a good deal.
It's a once-only payment that helps your game forever afterwards, nothing wrong with that. :D

Glad to see my post on Industrial Age get so many views! :)

You’ll wanna get the missile silo ASAP, I know I stay away from any bases that have one. It helps a bunch in war too. Assuming your airstrip is already level 2, you’ll wanna upgrade it while it’s discounted. Getting that fourth plane is huge. The usual stuff after that, armoury with whatever troops you use most upgraded, mercenary camp, library and its Global Age technology. If you use factory troops, get the second factory and upgrade it while it’s discounted, it could cut your factory train time in half. But, if you’re not a fan of heavy tanks or bazookas, there’s better things to spend your oil on.

How long have you and your global friends been playing? Surely you know the game mechanics by now. :D
The general rule is first upgrade the things that will benefit your attack/nation.
The exception (your choice entirely) would be if discounts or events exist that offer great discounts for other things you wouldn't normally prioritise.

Go for oil upgrades but choose those that finish quicker first! I mean that some aircraft upgrades last 6 days, while factory units upgrades last 10-12 days. So choose the aircraft upgrades, take advantage of 2-4 (based on if you have a second armory slot) and at the last days of Global Winter event (the first upgrades should be completed) you choose the factory upgrades. For buildings use your citizens to upgrade factories, airstrip and fort.

I agree for oil is the resource that is being gathered more slowly and being looted more often than food and gold.
