It has been said a million times (only a slight exaggeration) that reducing the food or gold cost of an upgrade is almost meaningless at higher ages. Much more useful would be to reduce the time or worker requirement. Please like if you agree, and maybe this time BHG will take note. LOL JK. I know they won't, but please like anyway.

There are some exceptions. We appreciate reduced cost for instant upgrades like walls and gates, and oil discounts are always good too.

I liked, but want to also mention what I think are the three most important events:

- Rush discounts (instant town center upgrade and reduced upgrade costs)

- Lucky Crafting (improved chances of producing artifacts with high bonus values)

- Expedition discount (expeditions require one citizen and take less time)

I would count the first as doubly important if it moves a player into Space Age. Why? Archaeology research. Then we have the winning formula:

Lucky crafting + Expeditions + Archaeology = success

This formula is very easy to unpack. Lucky Crafting is the only time when there is a high chance of producing high-value artifacts (especially if you have many fragments saved up ahead of time). Expedition discounts are the only time when a few citizens can rack up thousands of museum supplies with which to unlock those artifacts to reach all high-value bonuses. And Archaeology research increases the chances of producing three-star artifacts that can be sold for more blueprints with which to upgrade those artifacts to their full power.

Outside of winning legendaries from event leaderboards, this is the very best that can be done with the museum and, because of the crucial importance of the museum, the lucky crafting and expedition discount events are now an essential part of the game in my opinion. Even if you take advantage of no other discounts all year, take advantage of those.

In reality, more folks would reach Industrial (and beyond) if all times were reduced. The current times made sense several years ago but today there are 11 war ages (Iron-Digital). Someone new to the game has absolutely zero hope to reach for the stars (Space) and realistically no hope to reach Cold War. Not even a $1,000 will get there. Probably not even $10,000.

Everyone knows that the game gets fun at Industrial yet many will never experience it as they give up due to long upgrade times. Same is true for Atomic, many will never reach it due to all the long upgrade times despite Atomic being the best age in the game. There's no doubt this slog causes more people to cheat.

Decrease upgrade times and more folks will continue past Gunpowder, the player pool will increase, alliances will be more active/full, and more people will buy stuff.

It is so clear that this game could be so much more, so awesome... it's still not too late to do the right thing although that time is fast approaching. What do you have to lose at this point?

Heck, if BHG sold a decent instant Atomic package (one with, say, with Industrial defense and Global offense), many folks would purchase it and upgrade their offense and have fun. Don't focus on details (I figure max Atomic everything is not desired by most, and some work should be involved by the user). And if BHG made it clear to all how to easily use a 2nd alt account. Many would buy this.

Yes, their stubborn refusal to lower times in earlier ages is quite befuddling. If the m.o. is to sell cards, artifacts, etc. it seems it would behoove them to allow players to reach the later ages as quickly as possible. Are people really buying cards and artifacts in gunpowder age while their bases are essentially just lineup filler?

How about an event where they award like 3 weeks of speedups. It's not like 3 weeks means much post atomic age but id be much happier spending money on pass for speeedups rather than troop cards that people are duplicating freely.

And the 40 vs 40 wars...
