So after introducing Rubies to the game on the last update, we were suppose to be able to trade them with the merchant Marco Polo, today he is finally back. But surprise surprise, nothing to trade with rubies.
So why you guys added this pointless Rubies? If we can't do anything with them.

Beat me to the post. My thoughts exactly. I have 1,000 rubies stuck up my gate. Perhaps thats all they want us to do with them. In game suppositories.

Marco Polo is in the process of shoring up his supply lines so he can accept rubies. He is working his way through the long list of international fair trade negotiations he has lined up, but also has to take into consideration the yield on fixed- and variable rate market factors.

Thought so. He likely needs to report back to Venice with his proposals but the approving council can only meet so often and handle so much in one sitting. He is probably reluctant to use his initiative for fear of being reprimanded for it back in Venice and criticised on this forum by his hosts. Poor Marco, I sympathise.

Thanks. That's awfully decent of him.

Just like when Marco was released, BHG could give the community the courtesy to actually state when Rubies will be accepted. They know this, just as they knew Marco arrives every Friday at the same time every week, but they were silent when everyone was asking where he was. How hard is it to just tell us? It's not an important secret or anything.

as we have been handed a number of unavoidable defeats in the new system despite being an excellent and very active alliance I think we should be compensated with Rubies before any Marco Polo trades appear.

I think he has stuff that costs rubies in the back, but he's not putting them out yet because they will cost thousands, and nobody has been in enough wars yet to afford them.
