You want to take a long break from the game, and/or want to save some resources and buy a Peace Treaty that lasts for five days, for 300 crowns.
How to make the best of it? Simple! JUST MAKE SURE THAT ALL YOUR ECONOMIC BUILDINGS AND ARE MAXED OUT, plus research the techs that rises your food/gold profit on 5%!
Last week I went offgame for a while, coming back just to collect from farms, roads and caravans (sometimes mines and trees), hunt some animals and eventually donate some troops to my girlfriend. I amassed the gold necessary to pay three top medieval catapult upgrades (2,1 million), and enough food to upgrade my Alliance Portal and research the last chapter of Zeal (around 1,6 million).
Two of the catapults where ready before the shield time was over, and before that I ordered the third one to begin. Now I will just play normally, saving up some 300 crowns to next month go on the economic joyride again.
TL,DR: before going on long shield times, make sure you have your farms and caravans upgraded to max and laugh your azz off while making the resources needed to upgrade those top cash defensive buildings and get those expensive techs.
