Rally is broken

Seriously every time I try to rally troops to attack a building, the moment a single defender starts stabbing them all of my troops start to stab back. This usually causes my troops to die instead of help them, an example being my knights trying to kill a ballista tower only to have like 2 defenders come up and stab at them. Guess why my knights end up dying? Not from the defenders. But because for some reason they choose to ignore what really harms them and instead focus on killing weak defenders. Another example would be trying to rally on resource buildings. All my troops end up rushing to the building only to stop halfway to stab back at defenders who are massacring them and having all the towers destroy all of them. Seriously fix this issue please I've lost many battles due to this reason

Rally is all kind of ducked up. In addition to all the above poster mentioned, I even have troops run to a tower or whatever I rallied to destroy, long after the tower was destroyed ignoring everything and getting killed en route by defenders or other towers. Stop adding new features and fix all the current ones that are broke!!!!

Rally seems to have declined from what it used to be. Now in addition to the above, I also have troops who will attack the wall they need to get through to get to the building where I rallied them, but as soon as the wall is down they seem to forget why they are there and go attack soemthing else.

I see I am not alone in this observation. I hope that rally will go back to being the useful tactical aid that it was. For me it is a great feature that makes attacking here superior to the mindless attacking that often happens in Clash of Clans.

Yep they changed something and now your troops will get distracted off the huge payout in the storage's and you are forced to watch.

Rally previously made them un-distractable so you could take down that last storage after things went tits up.

I wont rally onto specific buildings anymore just zone rallies to collect my troops.

All I know is this is going to make GP hell trying to reach 1m plus price tags for everything... please change whatever you did.

Better get back to my walls.

So to summarize the issues I've had with rally
  • troops forget about the rally once they've been attacked by enemy defenders.
  • troops forget about the rally once they've broken down the wall on their way to the rally target.
  • troops keep attacking the wall that's blocking the way to the rally target even though the rally target has already been destroyed
  • some troops respond immediately while some take a long time to respond (they do their own thing for a few seconds before the rally effect kicks in)

Good men have died because of this. Good men with wives and children. And good horses.

You have blood in your hands, BHG.

I suggest that you fix these issues, or else...

One explanation for this would be that your rally was not precisely set on a building but a location right next to it. For me when I set a rally on a building, units will stop marching toward the building once its destroyed. Lissanne's observation is spot on: rally a building behind a wall and the units will forget what the target was as soon as the wall is down.

These are nice general points and much more of them per unit:

1. Archers stuck in the walls
2. Suicide healing cab runs through the walls, finds balista and dies, if rallied. You can't rally on a building having it in the army, so I am not using it at all.

And even more trash in defensive units targeting:

1. They hit one and switch to the second one
2. My general just stucked and didn't come out even though there were gates near by

Hm I thought the issue where units forget about rally once they destroyed the walls only happens occasionally, but it seems like it actually happens 100% the time, at least for my heavy cavalries.
