Arent mortars the shell lobbing dudes from the barracks? Would make sense, seeing how they are named in between wall miners and ballistas.

Indeed, and yet silly questions still need answers considering the confusion between Mortar Towers & Mortar Troops. The wording is not crystal clear but I suspect they mean Mortar Troops myself...

Literally started redoubt at full cost of 7mil in IA only to see the sale pop up like 5 min later, but if I canceled upgrade only get 2.6mil back. One of these days I'll remember to check here first before starting those expensive upgrades! But yes, I assumed mortar troop since it was listed with other troops.

It's for the mortar troops, not the defensive structures themselves like I initially thought. Looks like I was okay to begin a mortar tower upgrade minutes prior to this.

Yes the sales are about the mortar troop like it seemed to be.
It's really really confusing until the event startd because the words used could be the same for the troop and the building, moreover they use the mortar building on the picture related to the event.

But, I have seen the in game text now and it very clearly says mortar troops.
Of course that's the case right after mine upgraded lol!
