Smaller groups to war

Wish there was a 5 to 8 person war instead of only 10

Easier to just join a bigger more active alliance . If your alliance is having issue with 10vs10 to me it not game issue that is poor alliance management and joining different alliance would be my suggestion. You will get quicker results than hoping for a BHG change.

You make another account to play the game then join your alliance put them as leader then jump out of the alliance to find a bigger one.
