Speed up build time with gold or food by 20%

I would like to see a feature that let's us speed up build time by 20% with food or gold. It could cost the same as the original upgrade. I'm atomic with maxed walls and 14 day build times. I now suffer from LONG periods where I can do nothing. I think this would be a solution that would help people like me without causing premature base maxing.

I like this, especially the ‘’cost the same as the original upgrade’’ idea. Makes you work for it and get Trade goods and NTGs in the process, and might even get some people crowning troop training to get there quicker, which helps Nexon.
Although I would ask for 50%.

I feel your pain. Same problem here. Walls maxed last year, and this year basically nothing to do except wait 10-14 days upgrades to finish only thing to raid for is oil and sometimes I really dont need food and gold, but the opponent still loses them, even tho nothing fits to my base

but 50% of original food/gold cost would maybe give 25% speed reduction would be a nice addon....or maybe even a change from one typte to another. Example:

building costs 10 mil GOLD to upgrade. To get 25% upgrade time reduction you need to pay 5 mil FOOD.

How does that sound?

Good chat folks glad there is some chat around this...it does however need to be pretty expensive IMO more like the expense of the building/upgrade for 2-8 hours of time
I also like the concept of incorporating Generals into the mix as someone else has mentioned!

something else to consider...if the building uses gold to build gold should be used to speed up if oil is used oil to speed up etc.
my cost justification is ...what value is a buid compared to something existing (like a wall) and at what point would the cost make me consider doing something else???
One might also consider using free citizens to head over to upgrades and builds to pitch in for periods of time much like going on expiditions at the dock....the possibilities are endless.

Wow this is the greatest idea ive ever heard. This guy must be a genius. I'll bet his mom is proud. A 14 day upgrade could be speed up by 3 days with 3 days of raiding to aquire the resources that alleviates 6 days of boredom and makes using crowns to finish more affordable.

The fundamental issue remains the unbalanced relationship between the ability to gain resources and how long those resources take to be used.

• In winter for the ages I upgraded to global.
• I finished upgrading Global walls a week or two ago.
• So i only login to upgrade
• I gain enough loot to hit my next upgrade in less than a day
• So I have no reason to login unless i am less than 1day from an upgrade.
• Upgrades take 12plus days for 30% of my workers.
• So with a 'best fit'. I need to login every 3 to 4 days. Even if i start from a pisirion of 0 loot once ive upgraded which is never the case.

nexxon is literally suggesting i dont play its game.... its bizarre.
