Here is a list of things that I currently see as issues with the game, that have been left unaddressed for quite some time. It would be really nice to get some communication on whether these things are being looked at.
1) World War Replays - These have been promised for months, and I really so no reason that they are that much more complicated to do than the normal replay system. I realize the normal replay system is not perfect, but its better than nothing and the delay on implementing this is starting to get frustrating. What is going on? Why is World War replay so much more complicated to offer than normal replays?
2) Nation Balance - There is a clear imbalance in relative power of the various nations, and anyone can see it. British are the top dog, hands down (some may disagree, but based on how often I am attacked by British and how much more Wood I have than any other Coalition resource, there is strong anecdotal evidence). French, Germans, Koreans, and Romans are solid choices, but do not objectively compare to the power of the British. Chinese, Japanese, and Greeks are dog**** and not worth picking unless you just enjoy that nation or the look of their troops. There is a serious need to tone down the British and power up the Chinese, Japanese, and Greeks to level the playing field. Are the developers even aware of how bad the discrepancy is and are there any plans to fix it? I would love to play the Japanese, but they are just awful. Give me a reason to use them!
3) Troop Balance - Troop balance is still way off. Mortars and Commandos are absolutely useless. Bazookas have potential but are plagued by AI problems. Heavy Tanks are still questionable in their utility given their high troop capacity cost. Rifles/SMGs are far too strong. I appreciate that Assault Infantry got a nice stealth buff in the Cast Iron Level 5 upgrade recently, but they are still not as good as Rifles/SMGs. I don't know what needs to be done to bring things in line, but something does or we will continue to see the cookie cutter Howitzer, Tank, SMG, Supply Truck that everyone uses, because there really is no incentive to use anything else. Are there any plans to try to bring the troops more in line with each other? Why even bother having some of these troop types if they are going to be so completely overshadowed?
4) Alliance Management - There are many gaps in managing and participating in alliances, such as:
- Not being able to see member World War bases before they are invited to participate. This is a huge flaw that needs to be addressed ASAP.
- Not being able to share replays with alliance members. This is not vital but it is possible in other games and would be a huge boost to alliances helping each other to improve.
- Not being able to create separate chat channels within alliances for council and leadership. This would greatly benefit discussions, particularly ones that should only involve council members
I love this game, but I really wish the developers would weigh in more on some of these things. Spending time on these things would be much more beneficial than adding superfluous things like more additional generals and the atrocious war coalitions.
