would have been better if u cut out the searching for targets.....besides that it was a terrible demonstration. 55 dead soldiers for a po dunk low defense city. u would have been better off dropping the legions on the coloseum first and kept them together. with some cav and bowman i could have done that battle with 0-3 dead infantry. if its a oute legion demonstration 55 dead is still bad

i dont need to show u. i can just tell u. drop the legions on the coloseum first and keep them together rather than spread out. that amount of loot was nothing special. but u had high losses

Right, I am going to try this now. I must admit I envision my legions getting stuck behind a wall and being mown down en masse by a catapult, or caught and isolated by those little people with the pointy spears, but we shall see.

you're in the classical age. the roman unique has a stat advantage in and only in this age, therefore it is OP for the classical age. someone else created a thread showing the values for each unique. you also lost most of your army, attacking a very poorly designed base! try doing that spam past classical, and you'll see why it's the worst unit out of all the uniques and after that battle, you had to wait a long time to raid again, or spend a fair amount of crowns
IF I'm not wrong I got 45k food I lost 50 troops so it cost me about 5k food. If that for you Rome is bad but for me is the best. Just keep it simple.

It worked ok-ish first time.

Based on my one-shot, I'd say it's going to be quicker than my normal strategy with a better chance of getting five stars off an easier-but-still-challenging base. But with more casualties if I attack a stronger base.

Your loot looked really high to me, though, so based on the other folks' comments I must be an amateur!

I lose 50 troops means I lost 5k food but I Got 45k food with this. Is DAT a problem ? ~,~

Attempt 2. Attacked a much stronger, medieval base I wouldn't normally have attacked. Messed up slightly by splitting my forces and then forgetting about the second catapult. My army died. But I took almost all the loot. Potential as a heavy raiding strategy while I'm still in the classical age and legions are op, perhaps?

OP means over-powered - the heavy legion is a very powerful unit. (To make things more confusion op sometimes means original poster - the person who wrote the first post.)

According to another post I read, in classical age your special troops are a lot more powerful than other troops, whereas in the other ages there's not so much differences. Heavy legions in particular are supposedly awesome in classical and uninteresting in other ages. I certainly noticed a huge change in legion power when I upgraded, with almost no difference to archers.

Your English is going to be much better than anything else I've tried to speak.

OP means over powered (too strong) roman legion is OP in classical age. it is weak in later ages and we are not trying to make you feel bad but you had little resources before the raid you lost your army so you cant continue to raid you could of keep on raiding and then upgrade / research something but you cant because your army is dead and you cant do anything with those resources you received some good advice from that other guy. i recommend trying that, instead of getting upset
How about this?

How about this?

looks great to me!. i read your post earlier today and started doing your method and i love the legion attack. i usually only hava a few losses unless i go for a high resource high defended base. i do that when i nkow i have to take a break for a while and dont care if i have a lot of troops to rebuild.

any more tips?

10 Cataphracts, 2 Horse Raiders, 1 Wall Miner, 1 Heavy Legion. Best battalion I've had so far. If I play my cards right, I'll only lose the Wall Miner (which I don't use everytime, so while I make another one im still looting), and at times the Legion and a Cataphract. Either way, I'm still walking out with 9 Cataphracts and 2 Raiders. Only takes less than 4 minutes to recruit another Wall Miner, Cataphract, and Legion, and I conpletley destroy a base. You lost 50+ legions in one minute.
