The TB nerf is coming...

Get in those last few 30 minute sessions. (2 diamonds, now. Hard to come by….)

Anyone who uses the training blessing knows that without the TB, they simply won't play. It's not fun to attack when your TB runs out and your build time goes from reasonably short to unacceptably long. If you don't know this, upgrade your temple. Are you crazy???

Others probably know better than me, but the training time "bonus" is now 70%. I believe that means that training time is reduced by 70%, so a 10 minute train time is reduced to 3 minutes (French bonus aside). Is that right, IronAngel? If so, then the nerf to 60% would change this train time to 4 minutes, right? That's 33% longer, right? Please correct me if this is not correct.

So the nerf, while it looks like a 10% change to some, and a 14% change to others (depending on how you look at it mathematically), is actually quite a bit more dramatic than that.

I'm trying to wrap my brain around why the devs think this is an improvement. Long build times = Less fun, right? Less fun = fewer players, right? Fewer players = less money for the devs, right?

Attempting to squeeze us for every last penny hasn't been working. Check the top grossing app list. Time for a change? If so, your forum posters have suggestions:

1. Buff, don't nerf
2. Many other suggestions are made every day by dedicated and knowledgeable players
3. Here's a list, if checking each post is difficult:

The blessing is getting cheaper. Old blessing 6 cider 1 diamond = 30 mins

New blessing 6 cider 2 diamonds 60 mins. So it uses same amount of diamond per hour but half the cider

All nations except france will see 33% increase on train time. Annoying not game ending

France will b brought down to earth

Hey Bukalski,

Thanks for responding.

I agree on the cost, and I mentioned the same thing on a different post, but I mentioned the diamonds in regard to possibly spending 30 minutes, which would be expensive.

So what will happen to France. Did they describe a change in how the French bonus will be compounded?

Still no info on how will formula be applied to french nation... so don't cry a river up front and wait for it to actually happen. you still may have huge advantage, for us it will be 66% time decrease, for you it will either be 86% (using current formula) which still will be twice as fast as us, or something of 72% time decrease - still faster but far less visible.
changing something that was ridiculous is not nerf, it's a fix.

we nailed that subject so many times... it's getting boring...

60% time decrease, right?

Those who use raiders will see their train time go up by 76%, so:

Past:

Raiders = 85 seconds * 30% = 26 seconds

Future:

Raiders = 150 seconds * 40% = 60 seconds

So a raider army will take about 2.3 times longer to train on the new TB.

So in response, this is less fun for the player, right? If the devs want to discourage people from sniping tcs with raiders, then buff the 5 star victory. Don't make us stare at our screens. Nexon/BHG should look for money from people looking to buff their nations, not rebuild their armies.

even in taking into account that you count pure raiders army (with no distractions, no wall breakers, no HC distraction - which is trouble within it self) it's still more cost and time effective then regular army.
I'm still calling it a balancing, not nerfing.

Where are you getting your numbers from?

My TB says 77% time reduction.

Has for the rest - I'll wait for the update and see, but I like many people don't have 1 hour slots available 3 times a day to play this.

The level 1 Zeal technology "Increases Blessing power by an additional 10%". That's why you're seeing 77% instead of 70%.

Cheers.

Can't be many people get to EA without completing all the previous Library research though.

This is correct (if not accounting for raider training time increase and looking at just a static army build).

Those who use raiders will see their train time go up by 76%, so:

Past:

Raiders = 85 seconds * 30% = 26 seconds

Future:

Raiders = 150 seconds * 40% = 60 seconds

This is incorrect; your percent change should actually be a 135% increase based on the non-hypothetical numbers that account for raider training increase (it's far more dramatic for the French though, and levels their time out a bit better relative to other nations, though their advantage is still significantly better- e.g., with the new raider train time coupled with TB + Zeal Chap.1 switching to France will reduce your raider train time by 58%).

I think the logic is: Long build time = Longer time spent having to progress = Increased potential for players to spend (because there is more time spend with the game + better chance player might be willing to spend in order to speed things along) = More potential profit

They want to strike a balance between how long they can stretch out the game and still see a profit. We see our time investment increasing and may be frustrated by that, but new players won't know any better- so ultimate player retention might do just fine.

I think it's safe to say with BHG's track record of calculating percentages, we are going get something none of us can predict. :)

OK, here is how the Training Blessing will stack with the French Nation Power (and how stacking works in general in the game!):

All discounts are taken off of the original cost. So, if you have the Training Blessing (currently a 70% reduction) and the French Nation power (20% reduction), they are applied together to the original training time.

Example: If the Training Time is 100s, the two buffs would stack like this: 100-((100*.7)+(100*.2)) = 100-(100*.9) = 100s-90s = 10s

Thanks for confirming Ironangel!

So in the end, French remains at the same relative advantage as before compared to all other nations, given the formula doesn't change and everyone is affected equally by the reduced TB from 70% to 60%.

But I still wonder why the training blessing needed to be reduced to 60%? Was it because of the French or because you wanted every other nation to train slower?

As people have said, the fun in this game is being able to attack as often as possible. Making training time longer will make a portion of people lose interest in the game. I personally use crowns from time to time to get instant army when opponents situation is good. It costs me 2 crowns for that under TB but I can play 50 battles like this. If the reduced blessing is to make people spend more crowns, it could be counter productive. I won't spend 10 crowns to train instantly but 2 crowns is ok.

As long as rebalances are made to improve the fun in the game, no one would complain. But sometimes it just feels like you are trying to squeeze more money out of people. Then you'll reach a point where no one will spend any crowns anymore because no one is left to play.

my guess is, they didn't know how to apply different formula.... but it's only guess.

so good news every one, your french training will still leave all others behind.
using IronAngels formula:
normal nation - 100 seconds turns into 34 seconds - 66% decrease
french - 100 seconds turns into 14 seconds. 86% decrease
2.42 times faster.

no offence, but seems that you didn't read posts where we talked about TB french condition.
on other hand, it's less redonculus to what it was before when normal nation would be 23 seconds and french 3 seconds, so meh... good enough..

luckily japs/rome/germs got their unique unit buf.. ah wait.

;-)

See this is what happen when you have a bunch of people complained about the things that are not that critical. They ended up nerfing stuff and making things more expensive. Complain about things that actually more urgent and game breaking, like cheaters/hackers, medal system, poor AI & rally, and the lack of alliance features.

That's too bad, I wish they simply bumped up the cost and left everything else the same. Dimonds aren't that hard to come by if you go after 5 star victories and aren't just sniping the tc. I usually run out of cider before dimonds.
