I think the idea of a second blacksmith, with the ability to upgrade and research all the same things, is a bit overboard. It's the generals that need their own training facility. There are just too many general with too many levels to keep them in the blacksmith/armory. The troops and tactics would keep the armory plenty busy for a great deal of time and there isn't a real need for doubling up those researches. Drawing attention to this is how it gets noticed. The developers are likely aware of the shortsighted decision to group generals in with troops but have so much on their plate that they chose not to fix the situation and let it continue as is. We all know there are plenty of other concerns for them to address. I just hope this thread gains some traction and the idea is considered.

I looked through 20 pages and couldn't see anything that hints at this topic so I decided to start one and do my best to keep it relevant.

The lack of multiple upgrade stations after medieval age is a huge one. Now that I am in global age I am really far behind on my upgrades even though my buildings are almost all industrial. Another blacksmith would be great since I now have barracks, factory, AND airstrip upgrades that I usually have resources for but no way to do them.

Agreed! Simplest and easiest solution, and a logical one too, to have general upgrades moved to the castle.
What might be of concern to the developers would be, what might follow: if general upgrade can be done at the castle, why not upgrade tactics at the war academy, and troops at the barracks, and so on...
It might not be a bad idea at all to move the various upgrades to the respective buildings.

something has to give for sure ... there are just too many troops and generals and tactics and planes and tanks to keep up with.

My idea was to make something separate from the armory specifically for generals but the argument could be made to put each group in their own buildings. _Flash_ pointed this out earlier in the thread and it's not a terrible idea.
