Traps... and how to avoid them?

You know what I dislike? That perfect raid with lots of loot.... it's all going well... and BOOM. All my raiders die on well-placed traps. I was wondering which kind of precautions you clever people take in order to avoid traps when possible/desirable?

For my myself, I'd say that it depends a lot on which kind of impression I get of the base I'm attacking.
Is it well-designed? I'll go the least obvious way to the tc, possibly getting less loot, but securing the win.
Is there an obvious ai trap? I'll break a wall with wall breachers before sending in the rest.
Are the traps at an obvious spot that I can pop with less important units? I'll send them in first and pop.
Is it not well-designed? I'll usually go the way of least resistance. It seems like when the rest is badly placed, the traps won't be in the way then.

Which kind of precautions do you take?

there was a way to break walls without wall sappers (before august update), and still having control over where they will break it..

At that time I didnt use wall breakers, I usually drop 3-5 raiders far from each other, then rally on a wall segment, they just need to chop it at least once, open traps as they run over them.

Now distract the defending troops to the other side, wait till you can re-rally, and go for the kill, but make sure you do not drop all troops to close to each other.
in that way some will arrive earlier and some later, the earlier onces will trigger remaining traps (which the first raiders didnt fire yet).

But with since the update in august, raiders are not so predictable anymore... and this has gone to even worse after the last 2.5 update..

but the only way to pre-trigger traps, is deploying troops and rally them to clear the way...
It would be nice if the wall sapper got mine blasting capabilities, maybe a suggestion to a library upgrade ?

Avoid any open space. Always go in between bulidings that are stacked next to each other. If there's a gap, there may be a trap.

And given that I only play for one medal, I only snipe TC and can do as many rallies as needed to clear the path first. No need to take risk and send everything in one batch. I've got 3 minutes to get 1 star.

I send in my tanks first. They can clear the path and if they don't finish the job I follow through with my motos at least the path is clear.

I tend to send in a few fusiliers to set off their traps before sending in anything else. It's usually not difficult to see where the traps will be.
