Triggering missile silo

Hi,

how is missile silo triggered ? When I watch my defense replays, sometimes it takes ages before it launches missiles. I read the range circles but how long is the minimum time before 1st launch, I don't think it's 10s. Or is there a minimum HP requirement for targeting troops ?

edit : a minimum of 32K HP value on the field to trigger it ?

I think it's a proportional value (with relation to your troops' HP, so like 30% of their HP).

Incorrect, it is some fixed HP value.
I've had full raider armies deployed and only by the final deployments (almost all of them) does the missile silo produce the sound.

The same happened to me : a guy was no trigerring mine until the moment he unleashes the main of his army of raiders.
I did the same on my side : dropping some bikes, shooters or even a canon where needed and I did not triggered the silo.

But I don't know if it's a given amount of HP on the battlefield or a cumulative amount even if the units died. And what amount precisely.

My understanding is missile silo is triggered when equivalent of 100 troops is put on field. And then it hits the spot with the highest concentration of HP (your tanks).

I plan my strategy on in this logic and has worked. If I want to take out fc first without triggering missiles I’ll make sure I keep low troop count. If I’m going to pass 100 I make sure I have tanks on the field or I ensure the missile silo has been disarmed.

Can be easily verified if someone were to place nine tanks and like 2 supply trucks after that (to pass 100).
But yeah could be true, my raiding possibly triggers this sometimes like I described above.

The range circles or the circles just before it drops a missile?

I hadn't realized that the red circle was the one that appears before a strike, I can see it very well, thanks for the help

If that trigger number doesn't go up as one levels the silo then the higher level silos are even more dangerous to players, since army size (and number of troops needed to take down the base) keeps going up with age.

There is library research to reduce the threat threshold for activation, but it doesn't say how much. Anybody know?

I tried asking CS for information on the HP required for threat activation of the silo, but, the responses turned out to generic information about the missile silo that's already known.
I was hoping to ask about the library research's threat reduction as a follow up question.
After two attempts trying to explain my question to them, I gave up.

Dropping 3 tank destroyers and a general will trigger the silo to fire, would these 4 troops equal 120 troop count?

This is what Tinsoldier wrote last year:
. 5-10 tanks (regardless of Nation) does not seem to be enough to trigger the Missile Silo. The triggers for 'threatening' and 'arming' the Missile Silo haven't been published yet. (To be honest, I don't have them either.)
It's my understanding that it should be something you monitor as battle commences!

And another one:
5-10 tanks (regardless of Nation) does not seem to be enough to trigger the Missile Silo.

Trigger is troop count and above 120. Once it fires it targets highest concentration of HP on field

did it actually fire or just open? did you wait till it fired first before you released any other troops? when it opens vs fires is two different thresholds.
