Troop AI flaw: attacks an open gate

I deployed my troops next to an open gate but instead of charging right through it,
they'd stop and attack the OPEN gate. That's retarded.
Nexon please fix the bug.

Gates are never open even if opponent's army is going in and out of them. You always have to attack the gate if you want to go through it.

Well, I know my eyes aren't playing tricks on me.
My horsemen advanced to an open gate that some defenders had just passed through.
The gate swung open and stayed open.
The horsemen stayed at the entrance of the gate whacking it until destroyed.
I'll try to post up a screenshot the next time I see it.

Not a bug, that is normal. You have to either break the wall or gate to proceed inside. Otherwise, what's the point of having walls if you can just walk in through the gate?

In this case the gate was open.
Why do troops have to break down an open gate? It's not obstructing them. Just walk right in.

Yes, the gate opens when defenders need to come out. However attackers need to break it down regardless to proceed inside. This way, we aren't discouraged to have garrisons and stables behind walls/gates.

Just to chime in: This is not a glitch, this is the program working as intended. Your troops must break the wall or the gate to gain access. Even if it looks open as enemy troops pass through it is still closed to attackers until destroyed.
