FWIW, my atomic account has 16 VIP points. The scuttlebutt is that it's a 1:1 to dollars spent. Plus you get 6 points for each purchase. $10 starter pack 1 + 6 VIP purchase points = 16 points.

Now whether that means folks should be racking up the $1(do those exist) and $5 purchases before they close the possible loophole or if $10 is the minimum VIP points purchase is anyone's guess. It looks like there are non-purchase related VIP points that kick in after certain ambiguous later age thresholds as well.

I would not be surprised if alliance leaders get some sort of kickbacks if the entire alliance meets certain spending thresholds either, though that's merely speculation on my part.

Their post from some app convention mentions targeting social whales, i.e. leaders who encourage others to spend.

I didnt realize I was an Influencer. see you all in fyre fest 2020, I'll save you a seat next to ja rule! But really, if anyone was targeted it was the people that recieved the invite before the update was released and not simply leaders.

All I can say is that it's definately not 1:1 because I'm currently at 260 or so and have probably spent at most half that.

So I asked CS basically the same question and got this back:

Treasure Pass, Step Up Sales, Event Pass and Age Up Deals will not increase your VIP Points. Besides that, other purchases will increase your VIP Points.

The issue is nobody knows whom they have defined as social whales. And tbh only two people on some channels are visible as active advertisers to BHG, but doing it not very good. Just my 2cents. It’s to obvious how they are praising BHG. It’s no offense against this guys, managing a social community is not their job. In real life they are constructors, house builders and others, all very honest. But to manage communication as proper to get the results you want it needs a little bit more.

I have asked CS as well. The answer was „we are not allowed to give you any further information about VIP“.

This whole VIP system is a good idea, tested already in so many games.
What BHG does wrong is that they didn't take into account the playing time each player has in this game. They do not give credit to their loyal players at all!! No other game does that.
It should have been more like this:

Players that first started in 2015 get 2000 VIP points straight away
Players that first started in 2016 get 1000 VIP points straight away
Players that first started in 2017 get 500 VIP points straight away
Players that first started in 2018 get 250 VIP points straight away
Players that first started in 2019 get 100 VIP points straight away

Then add to those points whatever else they wanted based upon players' spending. THAT would reward correctly long time active players!
BUT they never ask for ideas nor listen to what their players have to say.

actually there is somebody who figured out how much it costs: look at attachment
till now, for me the best sale to pay for is (if i would pay): an event pass (gives a lot of troops, vip points, crowns,artifact, speed ups..), or the 5 dollar packages that gives 20 vip points
in most sales the value is 1 dollar: 2vip points -> 10 dollar = 20 vip points

Wow this is pretty insane, lvl 15 150000$...this is beyond ridiculous
