Walls should require 0 workers to upgrade.

As you advance in age, you can go for days without having anything to do from the ever increasing build times. Walls already upgrade instantly, so why change them so you don't require a free citizen to upgrade them. Then you always have something to do and an incentive to play the game daily.

I always have at least one worker free for walls. Most of the time I have a few available for that trashy dock expedition crap. But mainly I keep a couple free so I can harvest trees for the cider. Cider and diamonds are expensive when you war every other day!

I've always wanted this. While it makes sense that it takes a worker to upgrade it, they have it at 0 seconds, so I always have to keep a worker in order to actively raid and upgrade my walls. Would be a nice QoL.

i've thought about this ... we all have in those moments we're making choices how many workers to keep free, or being caught with all the gold/food but no workers to use ....

i think after consideration i'm with designers on this one; thematically and game-practically it makes sense to require the player to need a worker. sorry OP, i agree with wanting it, but it's not a bad design choice as it is.

FYI i keep 2 workers free for trees/mines/hunting and wall building; when i devote them to doing something else i ultimately cancel them back; that frustration is within the design of the game.

I can agree to this as well, seems pointless. I've also created a post (Awaiting approval?) to allow customizable worker additions to builds.
