Here's a topic I know you all have thoughts and ideas on: Leagues! Give us your feedback on Leagues - rewards, levels, etc. We've heard you loud and clear about the Medal system, so for this thread, please focus on other areas. Should the reset be longer? Should there be awards at the end of the reset?

I can't complain about the gold and food I'm receiving in Kingdom League 1 but feel the oil bonus is quite stingy, so would like to see the oil bonus increased. I would also like the 1-2 diamonds to be guaranteed everyday, rather than running the risk of none turning up in the boat. Finally, it would be cool to have a practice button to do a test run against other people in my particular league table. They're at a similar medal range so it makes sense to be able to practice new armies against them, rather than risking losing medals in a real battle.

The league system feels like a vestigal remnant of some earlier iteration of the game's design. The name "league" suggests that it would have some sort of relation to matchmaking, but I don't think it does. Right now their sole function seems to be to set the level of rewards after battles and the daily dock bonus. Unless they do something I'm not aware of, I don't see the point of having leagues reset at all. All that does is delay your daily boat if you're in a peace treaty that you don't want to break when the league reset comes.

Resetting might be necessary so that the listing of people in your league gets refreshed. But what is that listing for? I imagine that it's fairly expensive on the database to populate the ranked list of players in your league, and I don't see what purpose this information serves. Being ranked at the top of a given league doesn't do or mean anything special, and why should it? It's not like being at the top of the Silver I league means you are a better player than someone with one more medal than you at the absolute bottom of the Gold III league. Rewards for ranking within a given league would encourage fiddly rank manipulation.

I suppose you could offer a reward at reset time based on what league you're in when it happens. That might give people an incentive not to shed medals deliberately, at least towards the end of the season. I won't say no to free stuff, but I find it hard to believe that the rewards would be substantial enough to motivate too many people to play very differently than they do now.

EDIT: I guess league reset also resets donation stats for alliances. But I don't see any particular reason to tie those two thing together. It might even make more sense to let alliance leaders reset donation stats whenever they want.

To begin with, I think that the League Table needs to be fixed as its almost always unpopulated. The league season just ended today and my table was empty for the entire two week duration.

I think the length of the season is fine as it is, but there should be some sort of crown reward to the top rank at the end.

In terms of encouraging other players to move up in leagues, I think it largely stems from being unaware of how awesome battle bonuses can be in higher leagues. Also, the 2000 crowns for reaching Dynasty is great. I remember I used to hover around Copper League for easy raiding, not knowing that the bonuses scaled up by a lot in higher leagues. Maybe include descriptions for battle/daily dock bonuses in the Leagues chart? Overall I think including rewards for finishing at the top at the end of a season would really incentivize more players competing and moving up in leagues regardless.

Lastly I think new leagues should be added soon for players going over 3600. If peace treaties didn't break, a ton of players would already be there.

I like the bonus given for the leagues but agree with Parmenion that oil bonus needs to be increased.

Because of the league list bug, the list (if you are lucky enough to have one) serves absolutely no purpose since it doesn't really reflect everyone in the league. The last league list I had there were only 19 people on it... Seriously? Only 19 people had 2000-2199 medals? Not likely. I actually would like to see everyone in my league. I would probably refer to it often to check out people who attack my base, especially those not in an alliance. So fixing this bug and populating full league lists would be something that I'd like to see. As it is now I never actually look at it.

I feel league reset is perfect. I think most leaders use this as a tool to see which of their members are actually playing. If I see someone with no donations and no league medal on day 7 I know they haven't played for at least a week and they get the boot.

The introduction of CHALLENGE option in the league will be most exciting thing for me. A player can Challenge any player playing in various league positions(say a player from Gold league allowed to Challenge player from Dynasty or Kingdom league) & earn rewards as per its Challenge difficulty. Every player has the option to either Accept or Reject the Challenge. Accepting the Challenge will give some reward,then winning the Challenge will give bonus rewards in the form of Crowns or Diamonds or Medals. There will be no negative for losing the battle to the Challenged player. But a higher league player will not be allowed to Challenge lower league player. I will also suggest to reward a player from the lower league if it constantly defeats players from a particular higher league with a place/position in that higher league with slots reserved for Skillfull players.
I believe this will bring more Skillfull & Quality players to the Top of the Leagues(with Medals points have no impact on Players moving up through Challenge option).

League bonuses in the "lower" leagues are a joke, and should be increased to make it more appealing to progress.
Also the league reset should place you in a new league automatically, the "bug" with no others appearing in the league table is something
i can not understand.
Since it resets everyone to his league he belongs to, why doesn't it just reload and display all the others?
The check that runs when you manually switch a league, should also be run when resetting them. It's pretty simple...

TL;DR
League bonuses need to be improved
Resetting needs to be fixed.

Awards at the end of a season would be awesome. I'd love to see that in combination with a trophy building added or something in that vein, where it's possible for for instance alliance members to click and see your placement/awards for seasons passed.

I'd also like to see alliance leagues added. Similar system to the one we now have for players. Different leagues according to total alliance medals. Alliance rewards per battle? Alliance rewards at the end of the season? Don't care. Just something. Maybe then scale down player league rewards a bit to balance it out?

I think it would add a new dimension to the game and encourage a lot more players to care about medals and about which clans they are in.

But if alliance wars are coming out, I guess the same will be achieved there. I don't know how other games have handled that aspect?

League table should display the bonus so lower league players can see whats available and be motivated to move up. League bonus is soo terrible for most of the league table that players have no idea how much it scales at the end

286k gold for 3600 medals guys(with library tech).

A league bonus at the end of the season. 5million gold, 20k oil.... 2000 crowns...10 diamonds for 3600 medals for example. Then people would be counting down and cheering when league season ends resets.

What about if with league reset your medals would reset? Before hanging me on a nearest tree, consider this:
-it would be monthly
-at the end you get a prize (crowns, resources, dunno but it could be desirable to make effort worth)
-would fix no opponents ;-)
-would increase competitiveness and entertainment
-at least for a week or two you would not see +1 medal for fight

League bonus is a joke at low levels, and there is no motivation for newer players to join the bigger leagues.

The oil bonus is pathetic and needs to be drastically increased.

The no opponent situation at empire and beyond its ridiculous and needs to be fixed.

When the league season ends, it should take all (or maybe half) your medals and give your a bunch of crowns, gold, and diamonds.

You are very high, I actually expected to get much hate from top medal people.

Increase oil bonus and lower league bonuses. Otherwise it's pretty good.

i think it if took a bunch (at least half) your medals, and gave you a bunch of crowns, it would totally be worth it. The fun part of the game is winning battles for lots of medals, and once you get to kingdom, 99% of battle become +1/-39 and you start getting no opponent a lot of the time. So why not make the league rankings something usable and rewarding?

I will admit, that it would suck to lose the sweet league bonus of the higher levels, but if they re-balance some of the lower level bonus, and made the pay out worth it, I think it would be awesome and would add more dynamics to the leader board.

This actually sounds like a nice Idea.

Many problems would be fixed with this...

But of course adjustments to bonusses are necessary and a bonus at end of the season are needed.

Great ideas and comments from previous posters. I just want to reiterate on increase the league bonuses for all levels/leagues. Also, list the bonuses so it motivate people to move up in the league. Give us a league bonus for being the top 3 of your league before the league resets. The current 2 weeks is good. I like that the donation troop count resets too so I know which of my alliance is inactive to kick.

Edit: I want to add that league should give trade good bonuses for winning battle too. Daily boat is too little.

I always wonder what the bonuses are for the next level up. So including that in the summary description just seems to be a good idea. The 2 weekly cycle is fine. It gives leaders and council enough time to watch the new players to see if they contribute. I don't have a problem with the lower league bonus amounts. Increasing them may encourage medal dropping which was why the bonuses were increased. I do like Alex's suggestion of an alliance league bonus. But not at the expense of my individual bonus please. At 1 medal a win, I have worked hard to get to my league.
