Hello Leaders!

Thank your for your participation in last week's thread. Here is the new one for this week. In order to get some varied feedback, I'll propose feedback on a particular topic. Feel free to offer feedback on any topic, though!

What improvements to the Alliance system would you like to see?

The problem is that alliances just aren’t very useful right now.

In Rise of Nations merchants could travel between cities to increase resource productions. Perhaps something similar could be introduced to DomiNations.

Considering we already have markets and mills, maybe an alliance trading bonus could be added to each that increases the production of food and gold. You could even add some library research to improve the bonuses, or add the possibility to receive a trade good along with the bonus when collected.

Another option is to add a new building altogether, a mercantile. The benefits would be similar to the market and mill but you could have a merchant that “travels” between alliance members and increases gold and food production. The merchant could be upgradable through the blacksmith.

The amount of bonus could be tied to the level of the market and mill, the level of the merchant, or even the level of the alliance.

Alliance levels could be based off of a combination of many things:
  • Attacks won
  • Defenses won
  • Resources looted
  • Troops donated
  • Wars won (When implemented)
  • (Insert more metrics here!)
Also, these metrics would have to scale with the size and average developmental age of the alliance. Perhaps some bonuses are not available until a certain percentage of the alliance members have reached the Gunpowder Age, for example.

  • Alliances must be qualified on seasonal ladders that resets weekly/monthly and give players some resources, based on their Alliance place on the ladder when it resets.
  • Alliances with cheaters must be undone and the cheating members should not be able to joy/create another one for months. If they reincide, have their base reseted to Dawn Age.
  • There sould be a layout saver feature, just like CoC, so swapping between farming and medal-keeper city layouts do not become laborious.
  • A option to choose where you want your Alliance troops to spawn: Town Center os Castle.
  • More Alliance flags, or the chance of uploading a small image to make a custom one.
  • Sharing replays.
  • Give David Pasquinel a job on BHG for his cool ideas.

Yes, I can design great alliance war system, just let me know ))) so far, I'd vote for replays share as easy to make/great value feature. On creative side, there could be taking revenge sharing for alliance. Like ask for revenge. Critical bug: war tactics disappear after going offline. Almost constantly, but cheaters r still out there.

The ability to give resources/trade goods. make it how the vault is set where theres a limit of 200k per day at level one gate, and up grades amount per gate level. Id like to help out my younger brother and sister since they are low level atm.

Replays don't work properly Peace treaties don't work properly CS is basically nonexistent Troops attack walls that are already knocked down one spot over and hackers and cheats are running wild and your concern is alliance features? WTF lol

I'd like to see these alliance-related features added/improved
  • Share replay with alliance members
  • Ability to click on buildings to see info when you visit an ally's base and to see their traps
  • Some sort of resource trade between alliance members. Obviously these need to have some limits to prevent imbalance, e.g. 1 request per hour (or other time limits) and only a specific amount of resource per request. Perhaps the amount you can request increases with the level of your Alliance Gate.
  • Perks for high rank allies within an alliance, e.g. higher alliance troop capacity.
  • Donation-related goals currently count by unit number (1 heavy cavalry counts as 1). It'd be nice if they are counted by troop space (1 heavy cavalry counts as 6)

you want to move on with the game as it is and improve the alliance system ?

Like there are no other issues at all ?

Why would I be waiting for improvements on the alliance system, while I do not even have my own village to play the game with ?

THINK AGAIN !

but about improvements, please don't, so far any improvement has proofed to be unsuccessful, so don't, really don't improve !

Here’s my 2 crowns to take back to the exec team—
  • We would like to know if the current attacking troop AI is functioning as intended and if there are plans on adjusting it in the near future.
  • Please give us resizable fonts for alliance chat. It is extremely difficult to read on an Apple iPhone.
  • It would be nice if we could customize our alliance troop request message.
  • We would like better transparency as to development priorities. (for example: bug fixes, Nation-balancing, identifying/banning cheaters, content development)
  • Please re-evaluate crown costs for trivial activities. As an example, several dozen crowns to ripen a single Fruit Tree seems a bit silly. Also, consider factoring in the number of builders involved in the crown cost of rushing building construction.
  • I would recommend implementing a player loyalty program of some kind.
  • Increase the production rates of higher-level farms / caravans. Improving potential loot makes riskier raiding more appealing. This translates back to players who are more likely to spend gems to rush troop construction.
  • 24 hours waiting for a general to heal is punitive, even more so when you only have access to 1 or two of them. Consequently, they are predominately used only for cleaning up bases when they are already clear of threats. Dropping the recovery time to 6 hours (or perhaps 4 with a library technology) is recommended.
  • A community goodwill gift would not go unappreciated: a universal gift of some crowns or some other perk all users would benefit from, such as a one-use item to max out gold or food resources. “Your Kingdom celebrates your leadership! Your citizens fill your coffers to bursting!”

It'd be great if you let us know what is accepted by devs from the previous weekly feedback and tell us when to expect a new patch. Good players are leaving each day, so they may need some good news from you asap. Like another sticky post: Response on the previous weekly feedback.

While we're at it, the game is currently undergoing server maintenance with this message

Server under maintenance until 03:30
  • 03:30 in which timezone - UTC? EST? Your computer's timezone? And the date too.
  • Please give us a heads-up on maintenance. A day or two in advance would be nice.
Update: now it says "until 06:30..."

It goes without saying that there are a lot of priorities over adding alliance features, but those have been pretty well aired.

That said, I second the the comments above for sharing replays and donating resources and trade goods. I think the donate/receive count would need to be tracked, as it is with troop donations, so that it's clear who the moochers are.

Imo The general cool down is broken too.. i use my generals as clean up crew 80% of the time and the cool down fluctuates from 18hrs-13minutes... and whe they get killed its 24hrs-18hrs..

I love the last bullet! :D lol

Really really need the ability to invite players. Allow current alliances to grow outside of personal friends and those who browse these forums. It's tough to grow your alliance without being able to invite players you run across in game.
