Where are the new recruits?

My alliance is newish, started around January or so, so we have our medal threshold set at 300 medals. Now back in the day(one year ago) a medal count below 600 usually meant that you'd get more newbies than you knew what to do with in a matter of hours. For the past several months we're lucky to see a newbie wandering in from the wilderness once a week, if that.

Are we just incredibly unlucky? Has the rebalance set the barrier to entry so incredibly high that there are simply no new players to recruit? Or has the alliance search gotten bugged in recent months? I notice when I go traveling I sometimes have to reboot the app several times before the alliance search screen even shows up.

Seeing as the jump from 10 to 20 people for war searches is way too high for most alliances the last thing this game needs is some kind of bug regarding visibility/recruitment.

You made your own alliance Bootney? 😯
Here's a trick. Create 3 irons. Join them altogether at once. Kick them all at once the next day. Join them again after the penalty is over. You'll see some other people follow to join. 300 is too high these days, zero medal is more attractive.
Note : you will get newbies, I mean really really newbies this way, just gotta brace yourself 😆

Yeah our medals are set to 0 and we get new recruits all the time. Don't see the point in setting medal requirements because anyone who's any good will deliberately keep their medals low anyway, so they can raid easier bases in multiplayer

Thanks for the responses, folks. Still bizarre though. 300 medals is nothing when the floor is 200. In my experience it takes more effort to actually stay below that threshold than it's worth, regardless of age.

I set alliance medals to 300 because I liked the 300 movie. Small group of 300 Spartans fought the mighty King Xerxes army 😉

Well it was certainly better than the sequel. Though seeing the South Park parody before the actual film made me laugh everytime Xerxes showed up.

Guess I should be grateful the alliance leader isn't a fan of 2001 then.

Back to the topic; since you also have tons of accounts like me, why not just kick your alts every day to bring new people? 😆

Anyways the sequel was crap indeed 😪

Alliance level is a huge factor as well. My alliance is level 12, and we fill up almost as soon as we kick anyone. If you're lower level, it's a lot less attractive. There's sadly no way to really judge alliances besides their level and barrier to entry, so it's hard to get consistent recruits with a low alliance level.
