where is the gold?

was raiding someone and didn't find where all the promised gold was. any ideas after having a look on the attached screenshot?
only got 1200 of the available 13600 although I destroyed both marketplaces and the town centre.
don't tell me all the rest was in that "birdsh*t" on the road.

the screenshot cuts the bottom edge, but there you'll only see the two barracks.

I have only been playing since yesterday so i could be wrong but from what i have noticed after many raids is that when you find a base that you want to raid always let the first 30 seconds run out so you can find out where the gold is. The gold will be found in 2 places in raids. First the gold will be stored in markets(i believe that is what they are called). The second place gold is stored is on the road in some sort of bags.
You can see the bags of gold on the road in you picture by the research building. Those bags are often holding a lot of gold and you can tell how much is in the markets by zooming in and discovering whether they appear full or not.

If the markets are full, they will glow. What i often do, is to place 1 unit in a corner. That way i can see where all the gold bags are, and deploy troops accordingly.

Why waste a troop on finding out where the gold is Jacuer, when you can just wait 30 seconds and when the raid starts the gold will automatically appear and you wouldn't have lost a troop.

Or instead of waiting you can just look where the caravans are...seeing as the bags of goals come from them...

I haven't been able to see caravans in an attack. I will try to look for them during my next few attacks. Thank you for the tip
