Your opinion Please : topic Battle formations

The attack button or direction buttons is a great tool to have . To even improve in this matter there can be a button were it predetermines what formations your tropps will attack . Close together attack or flanking an opponent . What are your guys thoughts regarding this option ?
Similar to the attack button it can only be used for a certain time

Not a bad idea. Similar ideas have been presented in the past. They never seem to get much traction.
I would love it if your generals simply had an honor guard/escort of troops protecting them.

I'll take any upgrade in troop AI or ability to help direct them any day. So many times I have 10+ wall pieces being shot at at the same time by troops virtually side by side. Supply units and siege taking the scenic route while my general finds the nearest AT to suicide on.

any increase in tactical control of units would really improve the game, especially for those of us who have been playing the same old game mechanics.....getting cobwebby...
