No, i know what he's saying. Decoy sends out this pulse and if that pulse doesnt touch a defensive building even if that building is in range it wont attack it. What if you set the decoy right on top of the silo...?

I would like the think that we will be unlocking some new tactics that could be a counter to the missile silo. Something like a stealth tactic where your troops become invisible to buildings/defenders would be a nice counter.

In real life there is technology to counter things like missile silos. One example is Russian Katyusha rocket launcher, another is EQ-36 counter-missile radar that allows your army to shoot down a missile before it hits you.

Exactly my point.

The missile tower has a blindzone of about tower range, or +1 bigger radius than that. Putting decoy there is useless.

that's sacrificing 20 troop space to take down a single building, and you'd likely need 2 THs if there are SAMs guarding it, so more like 32 troop space. That's a big investment for a single building.

Here is a video of a guy doing just that:
. Watch him spawn a decoy near the silo at 1:14 and the silo completely ignore it.

I like the idea of the silo being a devastating unit but it should be limited in it's firing.
It should either fire much, much slower OR it should take a lot more troops to activate it, like half your army.
From what I've seen a few tanks or two generals plus some infantry is enough to trigger it.

This guy had everything, silo, bazooka tower, elephant archer it looked like lol. Anyways, it looked like there was a general and a couple heavy tanks clustered together in which the silo had targeted rather than the decoy which makes sense considering that decoy hp isnt going to be higher than all that. but mortars do the same thing too. even if you lay a decoy down once your army is closer to the mortar than the decoy the mortar will start targeting the army and not the decoy.

In the second video, the second decoy was placed right next several defensive buildings and silo didn't fire.

It seems that the missile silo also has to be in range of the decoy for it to take the decoy's bait. That's going to be tough to do, since the missile silo has such a large no-fire some in close proximity. The decoy will have to have the missile silo within it's affected radius, but needs to be placed outside of the missile silo's no-fire zone - it'll have to be perfectly placed, in other words.

Personally, when I take a bazooka sentry, I sabotage it (and hopefully any nearby AA if close enough) and just do a strafing run or two with strike fighters. Gets it every time, though I may lose a strike fighter or two. I'll just do the same with the missile silo - I see no reason why it'd be any different. Losing a plane or two is much better than losing your whole army.

I'm just hitting "Next" in multiplayer when I see a silo. Not worth it, and there's always some other poor sap with plenty of resources and no missile silo to demolish.

Please rewatch the video, mortars and other troops DID target the decoy, silo did not. Maybe you're right about HP cluster, but I'm not convinced, the silo keeps switching between different groups of units throughout the video, never once paying attention to the decoy, which itself should have 40k HP in Atomic.

For war, I'm sure it will be handled as you describe. You'll lose some planes, but oh well.

For multiplayer, it will also be handled as you describe, for now. See one, move on. Until almost every active atomic and global base has one - you can bet that is where all oil is going as a top priority for the next month. Then what? At the low medal bottom, it may not change too much. As you get a little higher, it will be a lot more painful. So even more people will drop, and there may not be enough abandoned bases to sustain everyone.

I don't recall seeing the answer to these posted anywhere, so I'll ask:
TinSoldier
Nb4powerup
What is the trigger or value of total hitpoints that activates the missile silo?
Does this value increase for each upgrade of the silo?

Watching the video again and it looks like there were 4 tanks (main or heavy cant tell) plus general, so hit points in that area was probably really high. If someone as a missile silo could you do a friendly challenge on yourself and only drop a decoy, ideally place it somewhere it wouldnt activate other defensive buildings?? Just curious if it would target it with only a decoy present

Ok, another test, with decoys placed in different positions. This time it triggered the silo, even though one of the decoys was placed right where it was before.
Don't think i like Dominations anymore! :))

In war, it will more difficult to 5* but indeed valid for both team. Big problem is that war cost a lot in oil and if you lose all your army (generals, planes ...) with the 2 attacks I think that many people will stop war and stop playing at all.
