This is a tip to the Active Warfare alliance:

Next time you want to send a spy during war - don't send someone who is in your war line up... Kind of makes it easy to understand what's going on... :) :)

Just because of this I will use a few crowns to heal my generals bf the second attack :) Bear - I am coming for you.... :)

We often send spies (except to the alliances who have names we can't type)... Doesn't everyone? Isn't that just part of war? We'd never send anyone that you would pick though.

Really? What is the point of sending spies? You can't see the traps in bases and who discusses how to take down their own base in game chat? We don't even know ourselves because there's no replay. Even if you do find out who's hitting who what can you do about it? Unless it's to taunt the enemy to throw them off their game, I'm not exactly sure how this would effect the outcome of war. Can someone enlighten me?

alliance sending spies have access to WW history. So it's possible to gauge the opposing alliance strength by looking at how many time they did a perfect score, how they did vs other known alliance or alliance you already fight with. That said, it's giving a rough idea of what's in front of you; not really a game changer.

I agree with you, and with glory you can pretty much estimate the strength of an opponent and how well they do in wars.

Pretty much this. Sometimes it can be useful to not underestimate an opponent, ...I think its bad sportsmenship as hell.

Also sometimes one or two base designs can be discussed in a chat (then you would know thing or two about traps) but I dont think thats usual.

So you're saying alliances will send a spy to another alliance they're matched against - the day before the war - and they expect the other alliance to NOT suspect this newcomer???!

Who the faark are these imbeciles???!

I can see where someone might be upset over this. We have sent over someone many times before, and likely will many times in the future. I know when we do it, though, we make it clear what is going on from the get go. There are many positives for both, as well as a few negatives for the incoming.

A) It sets up a line of communication for future battles. If it ends up being a great war and you guys wish to do it again, this sets up a way to talk in the future whether its Facebook, LINE, Kik, Wechat, etc. With the current state of matchmaking and the ability to stack bases the way some of these 'best' alliances are doing, it makes being able to do this even more important. The only guaranteed way to do it is to send someone in.

B) As stated by JuDomines it does allow you to view War History. While some look to view at results some may prefer to look at opponents. Please see note A as to why this could be important.

C) It can help with recruiting active players. When I say this, I must make it known that recruiting active players and poaching active players are completely different. Often times we have seen an alliance only make 10 attacks w/ 2 or 3 people(out of 25-40) that are putting forth effort. If an alliance has the space and doesn't mind, it would almost be a disservice to not extend an olive branch, followed by an invitation. In our scenarios like this we didn't go in seeking 1 or 2, we extended open invitations so all who wished to come could. We would never do this to an active alliance!

There are a few negatives as well. Approaching it as a 'spy' operation basically explains it all. If it is done with toxic intent there is no good. Running in and blatantly attempting to recruit is a no-go. Trying to figure out battle tactics or whatnot is a no-go. There is no use figuring out the placement of traps, because any good alliance will spot that immediately

So, be as it may, I am all for sending someone over. But not to spy. To play devil's advocate, though: We welcome spies with open arms. Come to us and try to figure out what is going on. You won't want to spread the information you get from your visit. It will not help you nor your morale.

Glory is a good indicator or activity now, coupled with donations. That is enough to see if you're in for a match. This is just my view from the cheap seats.

Sorry Ambria, I disagree. You could achieve both A) and C) by sending someone AFTER the war ends. You'd have the same results while not "spying". You'd don't achieve B) but it's the less important aspect imo.

I agree with Ambria. Its a nice way to be in a contact with an opponent, but not with bad intentions! I understand why during a WW. Its just because the actual battle and everything around that can connect people together better than if you talk after a WW. Most of those alliances WW back to back so its understandable that after finished WW you dont care much about past. You just focus on your new opponent and people dont have time to talk with a spy (rather say diplomat) from the finished WW.

Nice way to connect an alliance to the whole DomiNations community.

(Good luck to your alliance Ambria, you rocks)

I completely agree, you could achieve all three of A, B & C if you were to wait until afterwards. You only lose out on one opponent from War History as well. I wasn't saying you couldn't wait, I was just pointing out justifiable reasoning, so long as they are done without ill or toxic intentions.

My experience with Active Warfare, personally, is that we are on a good speaking ground. They have never disrespected Eminent Domain however one of our Leaders was taking a sabbatical to an old alliance of his to see how everyone was doing and they came in and actively attempted to recruit them. That, to me, is not okay. To each their own, though. This is war, after all.

Now if they would stop running their mouth then making excuses and face us in a 40v or 45v or face Outlaws!! in a 30v or 35v that would be awesome.

HASHTAGJUSTSAYING Christopher-Outlaws!!

It's happened to my clan on a few occasions, even had ppl come to scout us (ppl not matched against us in war, appear to want to b apart of the clan, donate troops, small talk and then mysteriously leave after few/several hours), maybe seeing if we were up to any shenanigans.

Well... I suppose if they think it will help them let them come over... Just be warned if you send someone to us... We ARE Zombies and you know what happens to peeps who associate with Zombies ;) Last opponent that we know of who came over with his alt during a war brought his main account over after it had finished and he is still with us lol. True story.

Not only are the naughty boys using spies but they are not upgrading their alliance either... Still claiming 54W-1L after suffering a devastating loss to Viking Army...
Will this naughtiness never end? :) :)
