Greetings Leaders,

Welcome to The Road Ahead, a look ahead at some of the exciting things we’re working on. We have a very busy year planned for DomiNations, and we want to take this opportunity to give you a glimpse of what’s coming in the second half of 2023!

Please keep in mind that things in development are subject to change, and we will do our best to keep you updated as our Roadmap adapts.

We plan to keep these updates coming, with another Road Ahead update planned for the Fall.

Summer For the Ages
Our long-running Summer for the Ages event returns this July, which will feature a Drone Age level-up event for the first time. We’re also increasing discounts across the earliest ages to help newer players progress as the summer battles heat up!

Along with the Summer for the Ages event flow that you’re familiar with, here are some of the new additions and changes we will be implementing during Summer for the Ages!
  • All 5m and 30m speedups will be removed from Event Pass reward tracks and replaced with 1h speedups.
  • Legendary Artifacts will be available in special Event Passes, including one in the free reward track this July.
  • Group Leaderboards are being reintroduced to select Weekly Episodes in a more competitive fashion; speedups no longer grant exp, and bonus Stars are now awarded to all players equally if they purchased the event or not.
  • Global Leaderboards will also return to select Episode and Season Passes.
  • New NTG Chests in Marco Polo will feature greater quantities of NTGs on a more consistent basis.
  • Our Council Recruitment offerings are being upgraded in Quest Event rewards. Free Recruitments will be upgraded to Premium Recruitments in Episode Quest rewards. Note: This will not initially apply to the Council Daily Claim but will come in a future release.


Quality of Life
One key focus over the next few months of releases will be to include quality-of-life (QOL) improvements to DomiNations geared towards creating a better in-game experience for all of our players. We aim to include a steady rollout of QOL improvements in most of our upcoming releases for 2023.

Here are a few of the additions we’re currently working to implement:
  • Increasing Artifact Storage
  • Earlier access to Legendary Artifact Exhibition Slots
  • Oil Rebalance for Enlightenment through Global Age
  • Increasing the “Are you still there” Timer length to reduce disruption while playing
  • Surfacing improvements to troop Donations
  • Missile Silos and Bunkers will no longer take oil to activate
  • Introducing new backend tools to improve how we monitor our matchmaking queues for potential issues.

In addition to the above, we have a list of other QOL items to add to our roadmap, but we want to hear from you first! What Quality of Life updates would you like to see? Let us know in the comments.


World War

We are also committed to addressing many of the outstanding issues with World War. While we are currently in the preliminary stages of these crucial improvements, our dedicated team of Artists, Designers, and Engineers are actively working on mapping out options to improve the quality of matches, address bug fixes, and implement a new Glory Tiering system. These projects are in various states of readiness ranging from active development to undergoing internal review.


Automation Age
It has been just over half a year since the release of the Drone Command building to Drone Age, and many of our Drone Age players are asking when they can expect to enter the next Age of DomiNations. We’re excited to announce that our next Age, The Automation Age, is targeting a release later this year, bringing new upgrades and strategies along with it. For our Drone Age players, we still have additional building upgrades coming. Our most recent set of upgrades were released with 11.10, with another set of upgrades planned for later this year.

In addition to the above, we will continue to constantly improve the performance, stability, and security of your DomiNations experience.

My request for world economy market where players can trade resources , artifacts, war tactics, storage trades, inbox items from everything.

Redesign the drone age troops because the unique troops look the same.

Rework and introduce new nations that many players can access different nations like russia, united states of america, india, ottoman, persia, australia, ethopia, egypt, arabia, poland, spain, brazil, colombia etc.

Almost all important points are covered by @oddin Just want to add below one which is also being highlighted zillion times:-

Nation rebalance:
1) Japan is mighty defense- So a full on defensive player should be opting for this nation. Right? But this is not the case. Japan Shooting Town Center is a waste. And that extra peace treaty is not helping players using Looted Resource refund lines in Museum.
Suggestion- a) Provide defense bonus like Tower damage, building health, Defender movement speed, defender spawn rate, Defender health, defender damage, +1 defender spawning.
b) Remove Town Center tower damage and add 1 mini Silo on top of Town Centre which will give some tactical advantage in defense when choosing this Nation.
2) Greek Nation needs changes in instant free upgrade. It should be atleast 1 hr addition every age instead of 5 mins. Also being better architect, its building and walls should have highest health(extra 20%) in all the Nations in the game.This will give another Defensive nation in the game.
3)Special troops of all nations still not upto the mark to use in advance ages like Digital, Information and Drone age.
a)Special nation troops like Range infantry of British and Korean nation have no impact in advance ages. They should get slightly more health/damage bonus to be useful at advance ages.
b) Similarly French and Greek tanks need some buff on damage/health along with range 4 , to be able to shoot over walls like "Super Heavy Tanks" troop tactics.

Implementing Nation rebalance changes will allow players to choose different Nations as per there playing style and not stuck with German nation.
 
my qol is the editing tool. tapped out has a tool to highlight sections of your base to move. id like to highlight my whole base to move it up a few squares.

other is stats for both normal and world wars (id would really like to know the numbers of my defenders hp/dps) and the modifiers of my war base.

other is the defence logs. the problem is that it configures units used/killed to your modifiers and not the enemies own modifiers. like im japanese and the heavy infantry of non heavy infantry nations have the same out put of damage listed instead of the enemy numbers. the only one accurate is the roman heavy infantry with its hp buff in place but the other stats are the same as your multipliers. id like this fixed (its a big ask). to get a accurate picture of enemy modifiers.

for japanese id make the town centre to a castle with holding a general and tower damage to take down air and ground targets, tower shots can hurt and supress enemies even commandos. (by extension castle and town centre too). castle recieve health bonus via roads and you need to destroy the town centre and castle for the town centre star.

greeks make 20% to all building (walls too) and refunds to upgrades and wonders are 20%more powerful under greeks.

Will the town hall upgrade be instant?
 
I would like to see a couple of QoL improvements:
1. Allow us to copy a War base over to a regular Town base. Not even sure why this has been disabled?
2. Allow two buildings of the same footprint to be swapped by dragging one over the other. Right now I have to move building 1 to a an empty spot, move Building 2 to the old building 1 spot and then building 2 over the old building1 spot.
3. Improve the base editor - it really needs a lot of work
 
Some great ideas already posted and I guess mine are a sort of spin on some.

Wars:
We really need the 25v group to be returned, either at the expense of the 30v group, or in addition. Also, why can’t we run multiple wars to ensure everyone gets to enjoy them.

Museum:
Museum grinding is soooo dull and often fruitless! It would be great to have the ability to filter Artifacts. This could simply be ‘Offence lines’ and ‘Defence lines’, or more sophisticated with options to search by ‘Factory’, ‘Barracks’ and ‘Airstrip’.

I do like the sound of an increased Artifact cap as that will make it possible to build multiple ‘styles’ - eg a defence museum and an offence museum.

Sales, Chests, Odds and Marco Coins:
The monetised side of the game really needs to give more! As things stand, I choose not to buy anything as the cost is a little prohibitive. When you add in the odds on offer in Chests etc are crazy low and Marco’s rubbish monthly coin ‘offers’, the game feels a little too p2p. Of course a games company need to make money, but having to constantly pay big for ‘tier 1’ TTs etc acts in a negative manner.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…put all the current Legendaries up for sale at a reasonable price (i.e. 300 Marco Coins).

When it comes to new Legendaries it would be great to put your ideas to the community for feedback.

New stuff…
It would be really great to have some new buildings (economic and defence), as well as new units, not just new skins on old favourites.

QoL:
The Dock is great, but under-utilised. It could offer fishing as a new resource collecting pastime. I’m addition, all trips should be reduced in length to make the experience more engaging.

Friendly Challenges need to reset once hit so that team mates can hit it more than once.

Free TTs really need to scale to Age. What’s the point of acquiring a Level 7 TT if you are a Drone Age player?

When searching for TTs in the Stronghold, it would be great to add filters to allow players to search through their inventory more quickly -eg ‘Generals’, ‘Airbourne’, ‘Tanks’ etc.

Keep these type of channels going as it’s great to channel ideas into the game.
 
We have great answers in this thread. Many suggestions that can really impact Quality of Life. Including about incomprehensible things like keeping troop levels out of step with the advancement of Ages.

Why do Air Units TT's get updates with age-advancement and ground troops (and helicopters) don't? If I buy a pack of TT's shortly before advancing in an Era, they soon become outdated and that's horrible putting us in doubt whether we should buy the TT's or not.

Also, upgrading TT's cards to the player's Age level decreases the amount of cards (repeated, but with several different levels) in the inventory stock.
It would greatly facilitate the process of looking for cards and this would already meet some of the suggestions for improving the QoL.

I'll leave the WW stuff to the diehards, the QoL stuff that should be implemented are the most basic things that affect everyone, regardless of who wars. These have been mentioned many times before so I'm simply adding weight to the requests.

Preset museum layouts for select purposes - looting vs attacking vs defending, etc.

Customisable troop scroll bar prior to battle - and fully deployed icons move to the end of the bar.

Reduce the endless tapping. Do we really need to tap 50+ times to craft museum artifacts? Do we really need to tap 4-5 times to get the contents of a chest? Or more if it's a multi troop chest?

One tap to collect event rewards. Self explanatory. And can we also scroll forward to the next available rewards, rather than scrolling past the ones already collected?
Tap, tap, tap - think of all the useless animation clutter that can be removed from the game code just by removing unnecessary tapping.

Resource trading. Highly upgraded bases are constantly full of rss. I'd happily donate rss to my alliance or anyone worldwide. It may not help them much but it's something to do when you don't need to battle.
 
Is there something we can do to improve The war matchmaking? Seems everyone is getting bad matches, too lopsided. Maybe base it on glory or team ranking on domistats or some sort of combination. There is also the idea to have divisions of different levels. such as a A,B,C,D division and you can move up or down the divisions depending on your ability to defeat other teams in your division. I like the idea of a 25v war as well. Basically we are all looking for more competitive wars . Other Suggestions welcome.

I do like a forfeit button and fixing replays as oddin suggested!

Don’t You think to offer some zero time consuming developments for oil? Similar to walls. If the mills or the markets are full, we can spend the gold and the food on walls. And get new motivation to attack. But there is no similar way of spending oil rapidly…

Any chance you can improve Replay functionality? Inaccurate depiction of battles is frustrating when it doesn't match stars awarded and can cause planning errors rather than assist.
