Base attacked during peace treaty and more

So today after this weird maintenance I logged back on not 5 minutes ago and noticed my base had been attacked. I immediately noticed I had only 30 minutes left on my peace treaty and the successful attack was less than 2 hours ago. What gives? So I watched the replay and immediately was infuriated. it showed my base with a layout that I had changed over 10 hours ago before I came into the iron age. It showed I only had one garrison that wasn't even working because it was being upgraded(something I had done AFTER I CHANGED MY BASE LAYOUT, NOT before) and my 2nd garrison was missing. To make things worse the attacker was in Classical Age so I just got mauled. What gives?? Why in hell is my peace treaty still there yet I was attacked? And WHY was my base layout a predecessor of my current one? Has this happened to anyone else??
