Blacksmith Change: Second Slot

As part of our ongoing efforts in making DomiNations a truly great gaming experience, we constantly review player feedback and suggestions. In this case, there was much discussion over how the Blacksmith functioned, more so as DomiNations has grown. As such, we’re adding in an additional research slot! This new slot can be unlocked starting in the Stone Age and will be coming in our future 5.3 update!

well i am not so optimistic about that. you can improve offence even more faster, so i think we gonna see some increase of GA-AA bases with Gp defences and AA-GA offences soon. Even more disbalanced off-deff game? i think yes. Now it is too fast to reaserch all main offensive troops when we enter a new age, and what will happen now i can only imagine.

This is a good thing. It took me 6 month to get my third account to Global. We need faster advancement to allow newbies to play with the big guys and replenish players that have dropped out.

Nb4, any more details available? Like, how can it be unlocked (does it cost actual money, crowns, gold, food), and can the 2nd slot be used for anything, or is it limited to usage for a unique tab? (Like, can you upgrade two generals at the same time, or does it have to be a general and a plane for instance?)

This game has been out for nearly 2 years, and more than likely they will be releasing content for another 2 or 3 years. What's a few weeks in a 5 year game?
We need war loot increased so that you can make as much in 2 war attacks as you can in 2 raids. Right now i can raid for 1 million food and gold in 1 raid, not every time, but it is possible, especially during double production events.

1. If second slot will be unlocked with Library chapter 6 research then great because my library is idle, every research for my age is maxed
2. If second slot will be unlocked with Mansa Musa capstone at uni then omg but fair [i bet this is the one ]
3. I hope that u will not limit second slot and we will be able to upgrade 2 generals at the same time because there are so many generals who take ages to upgrade to max level
4. And if second slot will require workers then omg...

The second slot will be available starting in the Iron age. That means it "shouldn't" be researched at a high library level or with the University since that isn't unlocked until Gunpowder.

Why do people seem to think that second slot can be unlocked for free? I expect it to cost real cash like the estate, $50 is my guess.

If you look at games like Mobile Strike or Game of War (which I had to play thanks to Fyber), similar research slots in those games are unlocked for real money.

Nb4 specifically avoided the question from Jane in this thread and chose to respond to someone else down the list to say the second slot could be used for anything. I don't think he missed the question, he just didn't want to spoil the beans before they release the patch.

If I'm wrong then I'll be happy myself. But don't get your hopes up until you see it...
