Of the current top 100 players, 29 are using the British nation. The only players who have 5 starred me in a long while, at least since I reached Global Age (currently Atomic Age), have been those using the British nation. The +1 range for the British riflemen makes them invulnerable to anything but mortars, so all a British player has to do is destroy the mortars with demolition, or some other war tactic, and they are home free.

In my alliance, the top 5 most successful players are all British. Among our opponents, it's normally the same. In fact, our best player, playing as Britain, uses British riflemen alone and doesn't bother with any other troops. Why would you when they can outreach and destroy everything?

I was going to make a suggestion, but I strongly suspect that it will do nothing, so instead I'll ask a question: why have the developers allowed the British to become so dominant? Because the game has devolved into a riflemen and howitzer-only affair (if you want to win), how have the developers not noticed that the +1 range to the British riflemen makes them far and away the most powerful nation? Why haven't they done anything to assist the other nations. In particular, the tank-special unit nations desperately need rebalancing. Surely the developers have the capacity to see the statistics on which nations are being chosen and which ones win the most battles.

This state of affairs has been going on for months and months, possibly a year or so. I've well and truly lost faith in the idea that the developers will ever notice this issue--let alone the fact that all the Industrial to Atomic Age players are only using riflemen/howitzer combinations (with a spattering of supply trucks).

I'm mid-global (level 186) and the only nation that can consistently 5☆ me are British. My defense logs are 90% this nation, no hyperbole. My guess is the tactics nerf was largely directed at the unbeatable Brits sabo/protect combo. However, paratroopers and proper decoy use make that gesture moot.

As you said though, they have all this info and have never even off-handedly mentioned it in any official capacity. So..........

Cue a bunch of British players saying everyone else can't play, while relying on the biggest crutch in the game in 3.....2.....1......
