For those with the village issue where you log in to the game and everything looks completely different, your level is wrong, etc...good news! They are fixing bases!
I have to emphasise that it is crucial you send them a message in game detailing your problem. You can do it from the settings, customer support section in the game (button that looks like cog wheels).
Don't bother emailing support on this website or tweeting them...they simply can't deal with the sheer volume of people affected by this issue. I'm a game developer by trade and I can tell you how horrible this sort of bug is for a game with a relatively small number of players: a nightmare. These guys have a user base well into the tens of millions, so my heart goes out to them. Imagine having to fix potentially millions of accounts one by one - it takes a lot of time.
The best thing you can do is submit your problem in game and sit tight, go play another game for a while. They will fix it, but it won't be quick. It took about 3 weeks for my base. I got 1200 crowns as compensation - okay, it won't bring back the time lost, but it's a fair gesture, I think. It is very frustrating - I feel your pain.
For those who can't connect to servers, before or after base issues, I wish I had an answer for you. I've had connection issues in the past...I just had to wait a few hours. If it takes longer than that, maybe uninstall your game and download it again, or delete the cache if you know how. It might help.
This game is shaping up to be a good one. Stick with it if you have the patience - I have. It's one of the better builder games out there, with a fairer and less money-grabbing economy than competitors. I've been playing Clash of Clans for 2 years now and I find DomiNations to have a lot more depth to it.
