    As highlighted in our 12.10 Update notes, we will be ending support for AOS6 with the release of the 12.11 Update due to technical requirements. Those on AOS6 will need to upgrade to a device that supports AOS7 or above to continue playing DomiNations.

Catapult, Sniper Tower and Redoubt even worth it?

Hey everbody,

After a while playing this game i came to one conclusion.
Catapults, Sniper Towers and Redoubt are not worth putting time and ressources in it.
They do as little as 300 DPS against Generals or other troops that have 50k Health?!
Am i missing something with these buildings or are the just Build-time and ressouce wasters?

What do you think of these buildings?

While I would enjoy a huge buff given to sniper tower mortar tower and redoubts. Is it really needed? My answer is No. I am a Defense player.

The only things in need for buffs on Defense are the following:
Anti-Air needs huge boost to HP and moderate boost to DPS
Towers need boost to DPS against air units only

The FSH and BH Hanger has made these buffs a must for the Defensive side. Facing the increased air units from BH Hanger combined with FSH has created a big imbalance. Defender stands little to NO chance. (Esp since we don’t get option for FSH extra stronghold space to apply to defense).

Now adding fact allot of Offensive players use Stealth/Ghosting the FSH and BH Hanger even worse. By not updating war bases after placing FSH and BH Hanger. The ghosting make Scout/Spying Pointless and cause Coalition choices to be wrong.

I would agree that sniper towers, mortars & redoubts need a buff while I'm defending - but I disagree that it's needed when I'm attacking. ;)

300dps might not be much (depends on your age) - but that's why they invented buildings like the library, museum, council.

sniper towers to me they need to change prefrence from any to artilery and supply carts... that could save it and give it a niche (so many replays i want them to hurt those most).

mortars scatter the 1 space troops and maybe its shot once it lands could supress cavalry and heavy tanks for a bit (only when it lands)

redoubts are fine they deploy machine guns on death and supress ince researched

These defenses are pretty decent in the lower ages where the attacking troops have low hp and are only ground, but becomes increasingly irrelevant in the higher ages.
Maxed sniper towers can however still have a relevance against artillery and mortar attacks.
But all three tower types could use some buffs to become more relevant, compared to the other defenses. They are definitely the last things I upgrade.

If they're the last things you upgrade, it's no wonder you're unimpressed with their performance.
Sniper towers are meh but l find machine gun towers and mortars, with the proper research, are great in any age for most troops other than tank units.
