Classical Farming Base w/ extra Catapult & Archer Tower (resource protection layout)

Hello, this is an updated version of the layout I was using before getting the extra defences with the library research.
(old post: https://forum.nexonm.com/forum/nexo...strategies/44013-classical-age-farming-layout )

Watching a lot of replays and using advice in this forums, I'm now using the gates differently to avoid the enemy getting to all the storages.

If you don't have the acropolis you can play around with the garrisons and stables and the defences, depending on how you like it. This is a suggestions where the acropolis can cover every building it can boost.

You can also move the gates around depending how you like your army to be deployed, and where would you rather your enemy attack from. I've explained before how a lot of times people and the troops A.I. go for the gate because it has less hp than the actual wall.

In my picture im using the gates on the sides making it very hard for them to get from one side to the other, and getting more than 1 or 2 storages. Again this is personal preference and i'm experimenting and changing it all the time depending on things like what defence am I upgrading, or if I have empty or full storages, or the medal range im on, etc.

Hope this helps :)

Cheers!

I read in some thread on the forum that the Colosseum is amplified by the Acropolis. If that's true, should you move one or the other so that can happen? Or is a conscious design decision not to?

Nice looking - Upgrade the gates to the highest level you can though, as they are the weak points. Plus put 2 farms next to each tower outside the walls, that way if you get a single soldier attacking a farm he gets picked off.

Thank you for the advice Andy :)

I didn't know this Erasmus, I moved my colosseum to the left of the Acropolis now. Thank you for the input!

Is there a tactical reason for putting all of your gates on one side of your garrison sectors? It seems to me that you could get your troops toward your town center or acropolis faster if you had one gate on each of the three exterior walls. Do your other defenses work better if your enemy attacks from just the gates side of your garrison sectors?

I would say we only need a good enough base for Classical age, for if you are active, the age isn't that long.

I have a similar design, with three boxes of walls sticking together. 4 resources buildings are separated into 3 boxes. One difference is that I put 3 towers and ballast tower close to the center of cat, instead of putting them near the outside of the wall. The rational is that they can all fire to the enemies if they focus on cat.

So far, my four resources buildings have never got wiped out. I have been attacked from all four directions, no one can get more than 2 resources buildings.

You are welcome Felcatrix, I'm glad it helped with your design :)

Nice setup Pharon, can be helpful for those that don't have the acro+col combo.
Thank you for sharing!

Yes, definitely.

I'm wondering about something -- considering that Notre Dame can't be destroyed, I'm considering taking advantage of that and using it in place of those northwest walls in the upper section. That would free them up for some other partition somewhere else. What do you think?

If I understand what you are saying you want to use the building as a wall... like:

wwwBBwww

(w being wall, BB being the building),

if this is what you mean I don't think it would work, because troops are able to walk through right between the "B" and the "w".

Or did I completely misunderstand you? lol

Even though notre dame cannot be destroyed, It can't act like a wall. If you put it between 2 wall pieces troops can just go between notre dame and the wall.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Good to know, thanks for the clarification - that could've been real ugly.

So far I've only had two attacks with this layout and both held up magnificently.

Is there a Medieval equivalent with the extra walls? I'm about to level up.

Hm thought so but you need the medieval age to upgrade the library so that's why I asked, I think they changed it in the last update. Thanks for the reply tho.
