Cold War release - progress update!

We are very excited to bring you the Cold War Age! The update is now available on Google Play and the App Store, and we hope all players grab it as soon as possible!



With this update, we noticed an increase to the number of battle crashes. We began our investigation as soon as the issue arose, and are working to remedy this bug as soon as possible. At this time, the best course of action is to still contact Customer Service after a crash.

The development team is constantly working to improve DomiNations. An improvement to how units move on the battlefield has been added to this update, but we have recently discovered a rare case that could cause troops to pass through Wall segments. We are preparing a fix for this issue.

An improvement to how units move on the battlefield has been added to this update
I see no improvement, but the contrary! My howitzers no longer attack the nearest building. They turn around and cross the battlefield, ignoring towers and antitank guns, cause they saw a mill on the horizon!

Imaera, you're not reading his post correctly. He said an improvement to how they move, not how they attack. From your description it sounds like they're moving quite well.

Tin, I would like if you could relay to the dev team of an AI issue with the Commando.

The scenario goes like so:

Commando chooses to attack a building that is enclosed by walls with no gates.
The Commando then uses his bombs to attack the wall.
The Commando will continue to do this until the wall is destroyed -- No matter if the building the Commando aggro'd to originally is dead or alive.
This creates an issue where you'll have Commando(s) attacking walls instead of their AI going 'Hey, the building I was gonna go kill is dead now. Let's go choose another building to destroy.' It's super annoying and I think a fix for it would be a nice improvement for the unit. That and possibly an if scenario in the AI where if one Commando is attacking a building then other Commando units on the field opt to attack other buildings. This spreads out their burst damage DPS a lot better than them over-killing one target.

Exactly my thought as well! All other units quit breaking the wall if the target is destroyed. Why can’t commandos do the same?

Is the dev team working on the long upgrade times? It will take years for a passionate and maxer player to get into CWA

Update please. I am loathe to use my aircraft until this is fixed. I can't just shrug it off when it takes 2 hours and 3200 oil to retrain 4 strike fighters :confused:

The 2 hours is a killer. Imagine you have 1 hour to farm while commuting, break etc and that crash happens.... good bye!

I've been in the same situation for months now with iOS/iPad crashes that devs don't care to fix. I'm hoping this increased attention will result in them fixing that crash as well.

Today i lost twice 6 HT mk5 and 5 strike fighter mk6, due to crashes out of the blue. Total loss 30k oil and 5 hours training time.How to not enjoy playing dominations?

To everyone that is having crash issues. Check your device. I had the same issue last year when they came out with an update around the same time and it ended up being the device was to old and couldn’t handle the game anymore

i use an ipad 4 and i have to make sure i exit all programs before going into a battle.

Why they can't just let the damn game continue without us is a mystery. At the very least we'd get to keep the loot. However the game seems to have a knack for crashing when battles are 85% in the bag, rarely in the beginning, so maybe we'd get to keep more than that.

The explanation for why the battle can’t continue without you is because the battle is actually only running on your device. At the end, your device reports the results and your actions during the battle back to the game server. The battle can’t finish after the crash because it isn’t running anywhere.

This is also the source of differences in replays. When your device re-enacts the battle that first played out on someone else’s device, small differences in computations skew the battle result.

Odd how I've played other games that pause where the crash occurred and let you pick up on reload. As much time as I've spent seeing, ''You are being scouted!'' over the years it amazes me that the game can't be worked in the attackers favor after a crash within that same 5-10 minute window.

To be honest though, if they didn't constantly blame the player everytime, allowed error reports or gave more than the most insulting of compensation this wouldn't be quite the issue it is.

So we should buy new devices every 6 months or so when Nexon brings out a major update?
