Community Question - What Hotkeys would you like for DomiNations PC?

Hi everyone,

As a huge fan of Dominations, I'm thrilled to see it finally available on PC! It's been a blast conquering and warring from the comfort of my keyboard and mouse. However, I believe a key addition could further enhance the PC experience: keyboard shortcuts.

Dominations has thrived on mobile for years, but the PC platform offers a different gameplay style. Keyboard shortcuts would streamline actions, making the game feel more intuitive and efficient for PC users. Imagine:

• Building, researching, and training troops with a tap of a button/specific short cuts.
• Issuing commands and maneuvering troops with ease.

These are just a few examples. Keyboard shortcuts would significantly improve gameplay flow and make Dominations feel truly native on PC. This, in turn, could attract a wider audience of PC gamers who appreciate the added control and responsiveness that shortcuts provide.

I understand Dominations has its roots on mobile, but catering to the PC audience with this simple feature would demonstrate a commitment to a smooth and enjoyable PC experience.

I wanted to clean up the old thread to give space for specific feedback on hotkeys. Being a long-time fan of RTS games I would feel right at home implementing some classic hotkeys from the genre.

We're certainly open to expanding the accessibility of DomiNations on PC and wanted to ask, what are some hotkeys you'd like to see for the PC version?

Was there anything from playing on Bluestacks or another tablet emulator that you think would be good to implement in this version? (ex. using WASD to move the camera)

Hot keys would be unfair advantage for pc players it would lead to instant drops and ruining the game for all moble user which in turn would kill revenue for the game makers

Nah, l think the whales out there will campaign for a mobile advantage to compensate and everyone will be happy.

I used to play with emulators and I think would be great to have these type of hotkeys:

Combat mode:

• Hotkey to select items in the slot bar: combat units, generals, tactics, TT. Can be used keys from 1 to 0 or any key actually.
• Hotkey to swipe right or left in the slot bar units (as navigation)
• Hotkey to zoom in/out
• Maybe a hotkey to deploy units (can be program to single deploy or full deploy or custom)
• All those hotkeys have a great balance in mouse-keyboard game play. Feels comfortable.

Non combat mode:

• Hotkey to zoom in/out
• Would be great to edit and type the number of units when comes to build combat units ( for example build 170 ranged infantry xd )
• when you want to use something, in the case of speeders, 1hour speed ups… if I have +300 of them would be a bit annoying to much click... so how about if you are able to type the amount of speed up you want to use, example use 100 1 hour speedup.

• Another idea would be an upgrade system for speeders in the Archive, for example. Turn 6x 1hours seepdup into 1x6hours speed up or 12x1hr into 1x12hr and so on.

If ya want strictly pc players go for it but I know myself and most mobile will say peace out when we can’t compete. I know day hot keys release would be last day I ever donate to dead game if this is allowed. So save me money lol

Might as well change the game name to Sid Myers Civilization and cater only to PC.

Only way to do this would be Domination PC servers only and Domination Mobile only.With no account allowed to switch.

If I appeared to have spammed i do apologize it was unintentional . I am totally against the idea of advantages that hot keys would bring and got carried away. Thank you for pointing out my error.

After using the dominationsworld.com web page to access all 3 of my accounts, I can safely say that:

- it is great for my eyes and I can finally see all the letters and artifacts and munitions
- I love crafting again
- I love chatting again ingame
- dominations graphics are much more good looking at the PC version cause you can see details that previously you couldn't

The bad is:
- it sucks to do battles... It is almost impossible to deploy your army within 20 secs. You need a lot more time. And half your clicks are misclicks. We seriously need shortcut keys for deployment as well for basic default actions while closing or opening various windows (like museum, council etc). Also museum needs something like DELETE to ditch an artifact while crafting and SPACE BAR to acknowledge the default action and ENTER to keep crafting or something along those lines. Something to speed things up .
