I have idea about improving dock to become a kind of barrack for amphibious military operation.
the dock capacity will be independent depend to the dock level and wont reduce the barrack/factory troop capacity

start from industrial age.
level 1 (capacity : 1) train a small gunboat (space :1) for guerilla operation.
gunboat could land a guerilla in the shoreline once in 30 seconds.

level 2 (capacity : 2) now you can train larger gunboat (space : 2) that can drop 4 machine gunmen once in 30 sec in the shoreline

level 3 (capacity : 3) now can train small hovercraft (space : 3) than will drop a standard barrack tank every 30 sec

level 4 (capacity : 4) in this level you can train large hovercraft (space: 3) that will drop a kind of lvtp every sec 45 sec.
lvtp will work similar with apc, but produce 2 machine gunman.

Against these gunboat, player could put their mortar, tower close to the riverline.

what do you think ?

The problem with the dock is that there is only one side from which to access the mainland. If forces were to come out of the dock, then you would probably only deploy your army on that side (or on the opposite side), which means defenses will readjust accordingly.

For water attacks to work either the town must be on an island, or there should be a river running through the middle of it.

I really like this idea I was thinking along those same lines... the town layout has a dock and a ocean area already... amphibious assaults even warship units to support attacks and for defense coastal batteries..this idea really should get some movement it would definitely be an addition that all players would support and adds a whole new element to the game...
