Factory troop space

why is it that the factory does not have troops spaces associated with it? the airstrip and all 3 barracks all have troops spaces that increase with each upgrade, why not the factory too?

it'd be great if the factory had it's own special troop spaces like the airstrip, that way everyone gets to use factory troops (like it or not). or if the factory gave at least 5 regular troop spaces per level.

Anyway saboteurs and heavy tanks take lots of space, and having some extra room for them in a mixed army would be awesome.

Good question.

I guess it's easier to 'balance' if all in the same troop space - suddenly adding an extra 50-60 spaces for factory units would skew the game a bit.

well, they definitely skewed the game defense heavy with the EA & especially IA updates. adding troop spaces to the factory would help bring that back into balance.

also I'm not asking for 50-60 extra troop spaces, just half of that

also there's always the options to make factory have is own units like the airstrip.

You forgot the secret factory upgrade coming with hack 2.5. Look at these guys, they have solved your troop space issue. 12 heavy tanks for 300 factory troop space with a few left for the barracks too.
