Heavy Tank Army in Atomic Age

Players who are in atomic age and using full heavy tank army (or atleast 5+ HT), could you please share your experience ?
How easy or difficult you find using them in Atomic Age now that

1) In AA there will be lesser bases in pool compared to lower ages , as match making in pvp looks for -1,0,+1 age .
2) in AAAir defense is considerable , with all towers, AD guns . AD guns received quite a boost in AA, let alone Amelia researches .
3) The number of Anti tank towers is now 6 , all upgraded to atleast industrial usually .
4) one HT mk4 lost is equal to 1600 oil , it's expensive .
5) while theoretically all HT army is powerful , but in AA they will need tactics support IMHO . In industrial I could do 10 attacks and use up only 1-2 tactics . But in atomic I feel 2-3 tactics will be required per battle in pvp . So how sustainable is the gameplay ?

For point 5 , for e.g, I had two full HT guys attacking me so far . They destroyed my base no doubt , but one guy had to use three heals , another one used two sabotage . Not sustainable if you are used to doing 20 or so full attacks in pvp IN AN HOUR, which I could do pretty easy in industrial. Ofc my strategy involved not losing any planes or HT so that forces were ready immediately for next attack , when one finished, back then . I want to gain insight as to whether it will be possible to replicate in Atomic ?

Easy to replicate in lower medals (copper league) and silver if you actually attention to the game. You wont' need tactics to raid in copper. Many of the abandoned bases in Copper League have Enlightenment defenses despite being global age in name. It is actually pretty boring to play in low medals though.

Thats great news and thanks a lot for it . Currently am investing heavily in mk4 (factory lvl 5 and lv6 plus ht mk4 upgrade research) so just wanted to know if 700k oil is worth it .

I use 5-6 ht for world war, for pvp I use 3 ht and 8 main battle tank but sometime I'm too lazy to switch army composition so I loot with 5-6 ht. From 200 to 1800 medal range there's a lot of easy base so I don't need to next too often. I drop a healing tactic only if one of my ht is close to die. At higher medal range you need to be patient before finding the right base to attack. Username: Andrzej alliance: poland united

Appreciate the feedback . And i like your username, looks like you love HTs too . And thanks for sharing your uname/alliance.
Am just curious to see how like minded people are developing their bases, which buildings they go for upgradation first etc.

Btw, which plane combo should we use together with HTs? 4 fighters or fighter with transporter? Raid with HTs look very oil costly; especially with unstable server. Investing in HT mk4 now but dare to use full HTs army in ww. It looks really slow unless open bases

I'm Vincent at 1st Dynasty. Ignore my British civ. I switch from HT raiding army to Howitzers/shooters/APCs depending on my mood. Right now I am working on Amelia so I can't afford the switches hence I am not playing full HT for raids. 700k investment is very worthwhile. Mk4 for attack, plus APCs is a no brainer

Thanks for sharing. Interesting to see another Brit civ player who contemplates full HT army frequently. I did that when i was global and thought am i the only one **wondering** . went from Greeks -> Romans -> Brit -> Romans again

I use 4 fighters, but these days people have very effectively used transports to take out my anti-tank towers. Am wondering that as well. I would say if you are just starting , you cannot go wrong with 4 fighters . Till global I practised a lot with using only three fighters successfully . So if one gets shot then also I can continue raiding .
