Hevy tank range shooting

Well, this is the thing I am observing now for longer period. I checked it in many battles, not just one or two. And it is definitelly a bug or mistake in programing (or even something done on purpose?).

What I'm talking about is Heavy tank shooting range. It has range 3 which means tank should start shooting when a building or unit gets within this range. Unfortunatelly in many cases this doesn't happen. Tank takes some strange decision and strange path until it gets close to the building, within melee and then starts shooting.

The latest case was today's battle, when I attacked a player. Two tanks headed to the Anti tank gun. Gun started shooting when tanks came within it's 6 range, which is ok, but the tank did not start shooting when Gun came within tank's range 3. Tank just continued it's way towards Gun untill it reached it and then started shooting. Which is wrong.

I must mention that there was no obstacles between tanks and Gun, except apple trees which are not an obstacles. If they were, then Gun shouldn't shoot either.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Even with other troops, (especially on Rally), if troop wanders on its own to a target it may pause at correct range and fire at building’s edge.
But if you Rally to a target, often troops will walk to the building to get a gauge of its center point and then walk backwards to fire -> at the center point <- and use building ‘center’ and not the ‘edge’ of building to calculate fire. A big problem.

Sometimes tanks go to melee range, then back up to their 3 range THEN only start shooting. It's been an issue for many years.

This takes so long! And sometimes they will be killed because of this bug. And I call it bug. I guess there is an error inside the code which made tanks say hallo to the building they have to destroy. Maybe an issue they were investigating in the very beginning but adjourn it because of bigger bugs. I don’t know...
TheWise maybe Knows more about it. I am just guessing why it is still there since the very beginning

I think it's because tanks evolve from cavalry. The cavalry strike from a melee position but tanks shoot at a range of 3. However there should be separate coding for each one!

Some troops are doing it also sometimes. It’s not only a tank issue. And heavy tanks do not evolve from something different.

I had a bazooka do it the other day and there were no obstacles in the way. It was one farm off in a corner. The bazooka ran all the way up to it, then ran back to the range of 4, then destroyed it in one shot. It added 3-4 seconds to the battle timer as it was the last building...

Bazooka troops work in the same way for me... they go close to the farm and then they go back for proper range to destroy the building. We can write anything here guys but nothing will probably change same for HT. We complain but nobody is listening.
