Reduced Range on Attack Helicopter

Dear Team of Dominations.

I enjoy playing Attack Helicopters instead of the overpowerd Mortar Tactic. But since you introduced the latest update, the Helicopters are now not good enough to compete with Mortars. I don’t know why, but they fly way closer to buildings than usual and therefore don’t use their range to destroy buildings. They also now get hit by Anti-Tank guns (which was not possible since the +1 Range in the Manufacture for Helis), even if the Anti Tank gun doesn’t have the extended Range. I don’t know why. I played many many hours with helicopters so I know what and how the should behave normally. If this gets not fixed, the last alternative to Mortas is gone. The Attack helis die way faster and are therefore not as strong as before the update… And it is not against the new drone, if that’s your suggestion. I am aware of that.

Range should mean the same thing for every troop. It can’t possibly make sense that range was “intended” to mean one thing for bazooka, mortar, or artillery and something different for AHs. Just make them work the same…
Not to mention fact that people seen the range possible built museums and speed up munitions and upgrades to have the AH combo just have all the time and stuff spent get there taken right back. Just seems like bait and switch even though it kills me as defender lol

I understood that the Helicopters targeting the middle of the building is the “working as intended” feature. The fact that Helicopters now have a range of 3 when it should be 6 is a second issue that I don’t think has been acknowledged by the Devs.

Actually they are aware of it. This is from Harlem in July:
Feel free to share your findings with CS. They are compiling all the information that is brought to them. The team is aware of this and is only considering reworking it for the time being. I am told that due to the work involved, there isn't an estimated timeframe for making any changes to this unit and it may not even get reworked at all
It's disappointing that the key words are considering & may not.

The design team confirmed that the unit works as intended; if you witness otherwise, please submit a ticket to the CS Team.

So I'm curious what's the right answer. I'd like to believe that a fix is actually in the works (and this reply isn't just bs to keep me happy) - but history has shown I shouldn't hold my breath.

Lets be real though, a unit that can fly over walls and traps, suppress defenders and shoot over walls which makes base layout basically useless shouldnt be a good unit. Attacks with heli are so braindead
That is the attack helicopter before the April 2022 version. Since May 2022, the helicopter is not as over power as you said.Maybe you need to update the game, the attack helicopter range in the current version is only 3(or4).

Unfortunately the silence from the devs is disappointing. I made an attack recently and deployed an Apache army with my helis. It's great to see the Apaches attack with their proper range of 7 but ridiculous to see my helis (with range 6) attacking side by side with my zooks. (range 3)

@Harlems369th - is this issue still on the table of things that need fixing ??

I don't believe the developers don't have the skills to fix this huge bug.
I have given up on AH for a long time.
I don't wanna use it in attack,except if the official fixes this bug,the shortened range is fatal!
It's very unfair to players who have invested a lot of time and money into AH. Now, it seems that the only efficient way to WW attack is by mortars.😐
Mortars and coalitions are unbalanced compared to other combos, judging by the numerous comments, and yet for some reason these comments are continuously ignored by the devs.
If they're serious about balancing troops or fixing things that are broken in the game they'll fix the heli range/targeting or the battle reports or a number of other things people are constantly bringing up. If something is broken it needs to be fixed simply because it's broken.
eg: what's the point of spending rss in the manufactory just to make the heli shoot at the same range as a bazooka? 🙄

Looks like they are ignoring you. You should forget them and try other troop combinations.
I've tried other combos, that's not the issue. If something's broken you fix it - it's common sense and part of offering a product for sale.
To remind them: a range 6 troop & a range 3 troop shooting side by side is broken.

Plus if someone asks a question you answer them, it's common courtesy - and, the last time l checked, their job.
But maybe I'll take your advice and ignore it - seems to work for BHG.
