How do you feel about the planes

it will be two weeks before I can judge for myself. It looks like they listened to us and didn’t nerf them too bad. The fighters did not lose hp which is good. On My husbands uber base his sams increased from 4,999 dmg to 5,749 dmg and his anti air increased from 1,197 dmg to 1,438 dmg. His planes damage dropped from 942 to 801. With 3 extra planes this seems like it might be balanced. So my question is to people who have the 8 plane slots and have fought at least 20 mp battles. How does it feel? Better? Worse? How has your average plane death/training time changed? Longer? Shorter? About the same?

I’m at 7 spaces right now. As far as comparing numbers on my maxed cwa planes, the only thing is that normal dps went down but dps against defenders went down by 1 which is odd. I do see them going down faster though because of the added sam and aa dmg but like everything else I just become more selective of when I use them and now that you can train them twice as fast it doesn’t hurt as much. Honestly what I’m using so far and it’s actually quite fun and effective assuming it’s not too buff of a base is double transport and 1 plane. The transports and paratroopers did not get any penalty. Right now I only have them at reinforced mk2 but I think I may max them out. I feel like dual (And triple for some people) transports will become the new meta. Probably HT and paratroopers swarming bases with infiltrators mixed in.That was my only issue with them at first because you couldn’t drop them fast enough to make a huge difference unless it was a weaker base. Of course should this become a thing, they will eventually nerf them. I still won’t ever use bombers but I can see people trying them because of the extra space.

I’ll be there in a few weeks but for me, this will be the biggest game changer of the SA.

Currently I have 1 bomber and 3 fighters and I do quite well in battles. I once added a 6th slot with a temporary plane building (I don’t recall the name) and I could not believe how much of a difference a 4th fighter, along with my bomber, made.

Now add a few more fighters? Game over :)

That in itself is a weird comment but yes hackers/p2w/ people who have nothing else to do. No different when every new age releases. Always want to be the first to get the advantage. Right when space age was released on iOS the first few bases I saw in MP were 290+ sa bases and they already had their sa wonder up. I haven’t read about what the new wonders yet because I’m probably 2 months from being there but the space shuttle must be the best since all the bases I’ve seen have them.

How r u guys using fighters and bombers toghether? Or fighters and transports? Or bombers and transports? R u deploying them together or holding one back to be more effective? What targets do u attack first. And/or focus on to keep damage of planes down.
I would use one fighter per tower to save fighter from looping around and around. Seems to work well. Now tho I am loosing planes left and right. Any information on how to deploy combos on these unused aircraft would b greatly appreciated.

I'm glad they didn't nerf them too much. I'm still on 5 fighters and haven't noticed any major loss of performance after 10+ battles.
I mainly use fighters to protect my helis from ground troops, my helis are the ones going after defensive buildings.

Not happy at all the planes are weaker so why not just leave 4 stronger ones

I've been using four planes and two bombers, and I'm loving the mix. As far as the nerf, I would say 6 planes is roughly equivalent to the old 5 in terms of effectiveness so it's not bad. Overall, this is a good change. And there are plenty of plane upgrades to beef them up again.

The fighter damage vs defenders was buffed 20x (was 15x). The suppression on buildings was dropped to 50% from 60% if I remember correctly.

The advantage of having 8x fighters vs 5x seems apparent to me. The advantage is mainly more damage against defenders, more building suppression ( more aircraft can hit additional targets), and more total aircraft health.

Yes SAMs and Anti Air do more damage now so you have to weigh that. Overall I think the 2nd airstrip being available in Atomic comes as a net benefit to the gameplay.
Traning time is effectively reduced by 1/2 so I care less now if I lose planes ( which I already did against lv 230+ bases).

My 2nd airstrip is upgrading as we speak. 6 days to go. I'll update when I get to test my intended combos of 2 bombers + 4 fighters OR 1 transport + 5 fighters.

Some of my top allies have coined to complete it. And it appears to be an advantage for sure to have the fighters plus transport.

A question for lower ages with Fighters - as we have no option to build a second airstrip until AA we have weaker fighters than before and no way of compensating for this? (IA; Already have max library, Amelia damage done, Statue of Liberty, some museum boosts)

- I like the idea of the second airstrip, however I don't think the lower ages fighters should have had their stats reduced as much as they were never that tough to begin with? I'm not sure what my exact HP figures were before the SA launch, but losing 10% is quite major.

NateTheGreat i took screen shots of my planes before I updated. My hp did I not change. At least what I can see. I saw they were going to reduce hp in then notes but no one in my alliance is showing less. I don’t know if they chose not to after hearing people complain or it’s a visual bug.
TinSoldier can you tell us if plane hp have been lowered? Also let us know if you plan to do so because you accidentally didn’t. So far most people seem happy or neutral so I would not personally. Rage quitting is real.

Bryan you should not have to worry as at Industrial, because the damage of SAMS and Air Defense didn't get boosted for Industrial or Global Age bases.

i have an IA alt and i dont think the early fighters were nerfed other than the supression

Apologies for the confusion here. There was an initial round of testing that did reduce Fighter HP and I believe the patch notes were written as if that iteration went live. What is on live is intended, Fighter HP was not reduced.

More planes are actually better because it give more targets for defences to shoot at, which means less shots per plane.

An interesting thing is that increased air capacity increases people’s courage to attack harder bases. Being 250+ CWA I haven’t had full army attacks against my base since the rebalance (in mp), and now I got two full attacks in a row. And this is really good - watching replays against my city had been a big fun for me that was gone after the rebalance, and now it is back again)
