How would you guys feel about these troop changes being put in place?

APC spawned troops are the same infantry from the armoury. Catherine's research at the university for the infantry applies to the APC spawned infantry. And, the coalition bonuses that apply to infantry (Aztecs and Cherokee) also apply to the APC spawned infantry.
The Mobile Forces chapters at the library only apply to the APC shell unit (10% extra hit points, 20% extra damage, and 10% extra hit points) which fires with a range of 3, but not to the infantry that spawns from the APC. Similarly, the American and Ethiopian coalition bonuses also apply to the APC shell, but, not to the infantry from the APC.
Hope this helps!
Cheers and happy gaming! :)

Seraph if you look at the MRL unit in-game it has a timer in its stats, this is the spacing between its shots which I think is the trouble some are having with it as the time is quite long so they can take a bit of damage from towers and such before they can destroy them. Either making them tankier or lowering their recharge rate would do a lot for them, sadly the library research doesn't go quite far enough.

And yeah definitely wouldn't trust the mortar troops for war lol but they're great for PvP, very rarely lose one and if I do it's not as bad as losing artillery as the unit value is spread throughout more troops given their smaller space cost.

Oh? The more you know (about the APC) I was a little confused since if i level my apc they get stronger but my normal infantry don't and vice versa in the blacksmith. Man, I gotta finish infantry in catherine then. I have the health and damage at level 7.

Even with the 5 range it's still not performing well? That's a shame. I was hoping it would be good but couldn't tell from just stats alone. I wanted to get my hands on it and try it out but if artillery is still better then I won't be using them much except for fun I suppose.

Chopper's main benefit before was the range. even at such lower damage, the range made up for it but as the game progressed the range mattered less and the lack of damage mattered more. 7 range with double damage is scary to think about honestly which is why maybe 50% more damage instead of 100% more would be a good place for them? I just don't want to see full helicopter attacks running through bases since they essentially make walls worthless, another benefit they have.

I agree with the other points you just made. But you don't want to make everything have high range because then it makes more and more defenses useless. Think about it like this... the British archer is so over powered because they have 5 range. Yeah they do more damage than other archers but they are weaker than chinese archers. it's the range.

You don't want literally everything being nearly out the range or completely out the range of defenses because attack will become too lopsided. APC is fine because it has 3 range which is 2x the infantry it spawns. Maybe tanks having 1.5 like infantry would help them be in the front of everything else better and i'd rather see something like that happen rather than upping ranges across the board.

Back when i played battlefield in the old days i loved sniping choppers with my tank whenever i could... So its not totally whack that tanks can hit choppers in my opinion ^_^. Same goes for sniping the pilot!

It would be easier just to remove the above units, then to make them useful. Since there is no advanced deploy interface and with the introduction of missile silo, any combined arms are obsolete. You can't afford to use more then 2 or 3 troop kinds at the same time if you want a quick deploy and any chance to avoid being hit by missile silo.

Helicopters are considered low flying objects and can be hit by any direct shooting building or unit (so excluding mortars, however SH can shoot at helicopters which is probably a bug). Helicopters don't trigger ground traps.

Very well thought up as well. Sadly it will be several months before I can add into the discussion about C.A. but hopefully by than there will be updates to make them even more viable.

Some of my own thoughts. I don't think anyone will ever use mortars seriously. I've used them for laughs but no amount of updating will make them worth using in war. Their A.I. is too unpredictable to rely on them. Commandos can be good but against high level bases you will never see them. Moving faster would help but they will just cause all the troop buildings to spawn and likely die to a trap. I think if machine gunners could shoot over walls they would be more useful. While they can attack over walls indirectly just because of splash, they have to shoot out walls to get to whatever target you choose for them. The range increase would help a little but they are still too limited to stop anyone even with their troop suppression ability. With bombers, you'd have to increase the HP a hell of a lot to make the worth using in war. Similar to the issue with transports, that if you're fighting an enemy that you know has stronghold troops, you lose the ability to attack them directly. At least the bomber has a better chance at least to deal with the troops. The only thing that will likely happen if the bomber was buffed would be they send it on a run to kill the silo successfully but it'll probably get killed right after. Perhaps just use the bomber away from the heavy defenses to keep it alive longer but that would also defeat the purpose of having it. All these units above, I know they can be integrated into your army by using a small amount but as someone mentioned above adding just one or more of a unit adds another tab at the bottom of the screen and that does mess with some players having to scroll left and right to select troops. I use some of these troops but only because I use the troops cards like demolition squad and etc.

Actually armored aren't a completely bad unit. For MP I don't use them much as Id rather use motorcycles to save the oil. You can use the armored cars to raid you would just have to be more selective on what bases you attack. They have more damage/hp than the motorcycles so they can steal more oil and make up for their cost. We donate them to some bases in war because it's a nice surprise as every usually expects the howitzer type unit inside. Everyone has experienced the armored cars troop card in strongholds so you already know they can be beasts on defense. We also have the alliance perk (I think level 9) so we get back half the oil used for the unit so it's not too bad. If we think that it will help us in war we will do it (While not spending actual money). It's worked a few times and not worked a few times. Shorter range than the howitzer and no splash but double the dmg and hp and it moves much more quickly so less chance of being shot down by planes. Obviously it takes the right kind of base and yes yes, there's decoys or sabotage or blitzkrieg but that's always going to be true.

I agree with the troop train time decrease. When that troop training event was on, probably the best time people have had in a while. It all boils down to the pace of play issue. Because bases are getting more defenses and also because of the "Silo" attackers have been experiencing more losses than before so there's also a longer wait to attack again. Even for those players that just say "Attack better and stop whining," I highly doubt you're attacking every opponent you find and probably find yourself clicking the "Next" button more often just to find someone you can take down without as many losses. That has always been the case, it's just that your clicking more than you used to. I dropped my medal count considerably to compensate but I understand the problem.

If any changes are made regarding any of the troops, I can take it or leave but it's true that game gets quite stale especially after playing so long. The pace slows down and as it's been discussed you really only have 30% of the units to play with because most become rubbish up to a point or are rubbish to begin with. Mainly I still play because of the people in the alliance and most of the time we aren't chatting about the game itself.

Yeah, I know the whole scrolling thing can become an issue but if the troops were worth using then people may do it or they may just start making full armies of of other troops instead of the standard 4 troops.

Yeah Commandos could possibly be made like the transport troops. When I say that I mean they don't set off troop spawning things. This would make them really good and make trap placement key. To offset such a buff maybe they could lower their health some.

Machine gunners with 4 range would be able to take more advantage of their troop suppression and yes if they could shoot over walls along with the range they would be much better of a troop or so I think.

Bombers actually have decent health if you get them up to atmoic or cwa and have their health maxed by Amelia. They end up with around 3k health at atomic age max. If they gave them just slightly more... maybe around 4k then they would be great but it may also make them too powerful. I think the idea is to use fighter jets to suppress defenses that would harm the bomber and to eat the sam batteries then let the bomber take out like 4 buildings. If you have Amelia maxed, 3 fighter jets and a bomber works fairly decently actually. Some guy attacked me with it a few weeks ago and i was kinda shocked at the results.

I may start trying this armored car on defense thing. I have alliance level 10 so the oil return will be nice. Maybe during the next event i'll upgrade them to mk 2.

I totally feel the same way with train times. There's a reason Clash of Clans reworked their train times / spell train times. No one wants to always pay crowns to skip wait times and even with training / tactics blessing the times are still kinda long for continuous play.

Still experimenting with the armored cars on defense. We tried our last war and we won but we went against some of the better attackers we have seen a while. Against really good attackers it really doesn't matter what is in there.
